Off screen snow and rain?

When part of my house goes off screen, snow and rain seem to come inside, especially in storms, if I can't see the wall blocking it it just storms inside, and covers everything with snow, is there a known reason/fix? Thanks in advance!

 

The game loads worlds in "chunks". When things are off screen, it will unload the chunks from memory so game doesnt bog down. As a result, rain and snow can make their way into structures when half of it is cut off from an unloaded chunk.

This is a known mechanic of the game and there is no fix to it.

However, there is a way to mitigate it. You can use a "chunk loader" to keep your structure loaded in memory.

 

Thank you, I've tried it out but it doesn't seem to stop the weather from spawning inside large structures.

There's a mod that prevents snow from building on your tiles inside your buildings. I use it because I generally prefer making ice castles and the snow was driving me nuts. Also prevents silt from spawning.

For the rain, you'd probably have to get a mod to prevent flooding. Or you can just craft a drain and put it indoors.
