The Oddball The Oddball is a very interesting and unique gun. You're out on a planet, exploring, hunting. You see a squid-like creature and take aim. When the first shot is fired, it does a great amount of damage. The second shot does a mild amount of damage. The third shot is a bit weak. The fourth shot makes you wonder "What's wrong with my gun?". But, alas, there is nothing wrong with your gun! This is how the Oddball works. See, with every shot, the gun gets a bit weaker. When you aren't shooting, the shot tiers rise again. The First Shot: Plasma Blast, 35% Damage, 1100 Feet Per Second. Levels Down after 2 Blasts. The Second Shot: .45 Plasma Shot, 15% Damage, 1000 Feet Per Second. Levels Down after 4 shots. The Third Shot: Standard .36 Shell, 10% Damage, 850 Feet Per Second. Levels Down after 4 shots. The Fourth Shot: An Arrow, 5% Damage, 400 Feet Per second. Levels down after 10 arrows. The Fifth Shot: A Duck, 1% Damage, 200 Feet Per Second, makes duck noises. Does not level down. From the Fifth Shot, if you aren't shooting, here is how restoration works. Wait 2 Seconds: Level Up to Arrow. Wait 3 more seconds: Level Up to the Standard Bullet. Wait 4 more Seconds: Level up to Plasma Shot. Wait 6 more seconds: Level up to Plasma Blast. The Oddball is a Two-Handed Weapon. If the player obtains an item called "The Oddball Key", they can use it on an Oddball gun. Once the Gun has been "Keyed", if player levels their weapon all the way down to Ducks, and then waits the total of 13 seconds to level the gun back up to the Plasma Blast, they can wait an additional 5 seconds to level up to the Oddball Blast, which does 50% Damage and can only be fired once before downgrading back to the Plasma Blast. The Oddball is a gun that requires skill and strategy to use. When fighting against bosses, the Oddball's damage decreases (So you can't take out a boss with an Oddball Blast and a few Plasma Shots). The Oddball is a rare find in high-danger level Dungeons and cannot be crafted. Tell me whatcha think!
Looks pretty awesome. Certainly not the most effective weapon but probably one I'd have just for the novelty. Reminds me of the Nemesis from cave story, but only the fact that it shoots ducks sometimes... Yes, I like
Or better yet just toss this into the RNG alongside the other gun behaviors instead of making it a static cameo.

Yes and no. I quite much like the idea of gun with decreasing power of shots you need to wait for to recharge back to the full capabilities but I'd like the gun to use one type of 'bullets' (for example, energy blasts of different size depending on the strength of the shot) and surely, no dumb elements like shooting ducks. I also like Bombzero idea - making such behavior not belong to some one, special kind of weapon but being both 'choosable' weapon behavior when crafting some gun and possible way some found weaponry would function does appeal to me.
This reminds me of the Cave Story weapon that starts out awesome at level 1 and become weak,short-ranged rubber ducks at level 3.

sounds cool the only thing is the name? it makes me think of the odd ball from halo every time i hear it. something alittle more themed with the duck idea might be cool.
