Tab characters causing inconsistent code alignment were hurting my brain, so I finally purged them with the holy fire of global replace.
if someone doesn't use this to make a text-adventure dating sim I will be sorely disappointed in you all.
It's look like players can now write programs ingame. Sounds promising. But, IMHO, craftable consols's functional can be different on different tiers. Like, the first consol can use only very small amount of memory and almost no grafic, when the last one can handle even simple games like Mario
I love this, this opens up so many possibilities. Ye find yeself in yon alien base, on yonder alien planet, in yondest alien space. Ye see a TECHNO-FLASK. Obvious exits are WARP NORTH, XENO SOUTH, and CYBER DENNIS. What wouldst thou deau? > Get ye techno-flask You can't get ye techno-flask! And then you'd just have to sit there and imagine why on alien planet you can't get ye techno-flask!
You have narrowly escaped the wrath of the Stargazers. Your ship has been damaged during your escape. To keep moving you'll need to repair the ships thrusters and patch up the hull. Your ship Sparks and broken light are your only guide as you stand in your damaged ship. You can see the faint glow of the ship's AI console. > look at AI Your ship's AI is going completely crazy. Its avatar, a collection of slightly cracked gems, blinks furiously. The terminal reads "ERROR: ERROR: Info:'S.A.I.L.::run.innerLoop', 'Cnt#: ', 1198, 'Sum:ms:', ERROR: 'Min', 15, 'Max', 7199, 'Horse', 9899, 'Avg', 23, 'Last:::', '800b5', 'Var:avg,us: ERROR: ERROR: REBOOT REQUIRED!!!". > restart AI The AI shortly goes dark. The collection of gems reappear and glow at a more reasonable interval. The terminal reads "Boot Initialised, new superuser acquired...... Thank you! I am S.A.I.L. I have enabled the ship's backup power. The thrusters and FTL drive are still offline. We should start by enabling your matter manipulator."
If you want to cut yourself modding the nightlies, I threw together a quick page of notes on the wiki: http://starbounder.org/Modding:Nightlies
Star Trek (TOS) fictional universal currency.[DOUBLEPOST=1413387996][/DOUBLEPOST] Given the context, I was going for the first option xD.
I'm seeing it, a side quest: "beat my high score of 600K on Zombie Banana Mansion" [DOUBLEPOST=1413388820][/DOUBLEPOST] There was this game on FFVIII called "Triple Triad" with playing cards with all the monsters and characters on the game, it was really cool! to see it on Starbound ...
Lol, it'd be funny if someone found a way to emulate GB/GBA games, I'd love to kill some time playing Tetris while waiting for crops to grow.
Besides that, I'd put in some creepypasta in a Floran or Agaran-topped computer, and when you hit the last page of the pasta, script a boss battle.
