Interactive interfaces... Hmm... if I remember correctly, there were a bunch of Hylotl furniture objects that that were arcade cabinets. Psychedelic Rodeo Melee, Dance-Dance, Stylish Thief Wasteland, Sleazy Burger Heroes, Screaming Fashion Agent, Cool Wizard Island, and Zombie Banana Mansion. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that I want to actually play these in-game arcades? >_>;
There should be a contest for modders to create games based offs of these particular arcade cabinets that could allow them to make it in the actual release. Blah i hate typing after waking up.
You're either inviting us to thermonuclear war, to take a hacksaw to our ankles, or to be harassed by a jackass asking about 4G coverage.[DOUBLEPOST=1413322123][/DOUBLEPOST] Put Thy Dungeonman in Starbound and I think all will be amazing.
Would a multiplayer mini-game be possible? like Dungeons & Dragons, card games, checkers/chess, boardgames or even simple video games like mario, these would be cool, and I think card games and chess would fit the theme a bit, and it could be used to make more advanced encounters, like beat the jailer at checkers to set the prisoner free, that kind of thing.
From here, we can emulate Doom 3 in Starbound by those interactive computers, visual logs, codexes, and hopefully try to rewire a system from an interface (not the vanilla wiring tool though). Say, how about going to another instanced space? Just in case for the curious Starbounders who'd barge through those background doors (esp. the locked ones in the Apex Lab)...
all awesome , and cool , but please FIX the trees!! lol. its the most frustrating thing ever, when you love this game and the one mechanic spoils it at present when trialing the new nightly build updates, yes i know its nightly, I thought it would of been fixed by now or is it part of something bigger??
Now there's an interesting idea. Though it's probably gonna be a bit tricky since the modders would have to take a educated guess how the game would be like based on how the various player races describe the game when examining the arcade cabinet. ... Except for the Dance-Dance game. That's basically Dance Dance Revolution.
I vote for Rapunzel! Or, an in-game game version of Greenfinger's origins, Big Ape's rise to power, Kluex's Ascension (or Thornwing's...), etc. That way, you could say they aren't canon lore, but players could experience the beginnings of Starbound lore in an entertaining way!
My suggestion, is program in a pixelized floran chef television show elaborating upon the beauty of trans species dishes and how to properly boil Hylotl scales in a tangy Apex blood broth with Avian feather garnish along with a rather finely brewed Floran tea.
This can really open up a huge untapped potential to star bound. I wonder if scripts can run in the background where you can create a universe based economy system of supply and demand.
not sure what to say Many have suggested this and I'm so glad they decided to make it in the game THANK DEVS FOR THIS YOU GUYS/GIRLS ARE SUPER COOL
Now tie that in with dungeon protection system(s) and you have the makings of 'unavoidable' (but perhaps with mitigable failure states) puzzles/locks/control systems. Perhaps even protect the dungeon protection system with such an interface, then if you find a cool dungeon you might be more inclined to ask for assistance (and hence share the location of the dungeon) to break the puzzle and be able to extract dungeon parts.
