I think if you go to deep, there should be evil sea creatures guarding treasure! like a giant squid or killer whale or something even more nightmarish!
A water planet is a must to me, would give a great excuse to have a lot of underwater cities and such on it as well.
Ocean Biomes is easily the best biome in terms of exploration. There was so much terraria could have done with the ocean. Same with the desert. im really looking forward to these two biomes the most.
The scuba suit should be the first diving item you get and you can go so far down and then you have to get a submarine to go farther down and so on
Hmmm, while it wouldn't entirely be my favorite I have to admit I see the appeal of exploring a place like Blue Planet RPG. At lower levels you start with a basic diving set but as it goes on you can go totally Aquanauts and explore the bottom. Resources could include a variety of biological extracts from sea plants and bizarre fish...
First thing i thought when i read this forum... "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!" i think there should be underwater trenches and on the cliffs of those trenches, there will be an underwater cities with fish people.
Good Idea! Maybe, instead of pockets of air(like you used to be able to make in terraria), bubble float upwards from the bottom of the planet that you get your breath restored from.
I would love water planets, but you one what would be nice, a planet filled with just islands...100s, 1000s of them xD that would make quite an adventure! Also, has anyone suggested a planet that has an atmosphere that FEELS like its a liquid, but isn't. So it would be like a small gas planet, but you would feel like you would be swimming...just a thought...
No, because Qui-Gon's "midi-chlorians" explanation is not realistic. It is gibberish. It tries to sound hip, smart and scientificistic. Yes, I spelled last word exactly as I meant to, because that's what it is: clutter. Star Wars has no science basis in its' specific concepts, it never had and it was fine as it was. Because Star Wars is "space fantasy" or "space opera". I don't believe that I should back up this statement with explanations, but I can, if really needed. It's boring, though, all of that has been said already. Yoda's explanation is quasi-religious, metaphysical and philosophical. It sounded better and it, of course, fitted better to Star Wars setting. It is not scientific, and I am not saying that everything in fiction should be strictly scientific. Hell, there is a Black Mage on my avatar, because he is awesome. I sort of like Yoda and old Star Wars trilogy, but it is not hard science fiction. Star Wars is history. It is complete, I am speaking about two trilogies. Starbound is not complete, it is not history. It is malleable. While it goes without saying that Starbound is Tiy's brain child, and it will be as hard sci-fi or soft sci-fi as his lead developer wishes, obviously, the fact that we have these suggestions forums implies that we can at least speak what we are thinking about this game before it is history. And it is my opinion that elements of hard sci-fi can't hurt this game. Of course, if they are applied completely within the frame of lead developer's vision. It would be extremely stupid for any person to enter the forums of the game with such known premise as Starbound has to proclaim: "Lol, FTL is impossible. So this concept of galaxy you can travel through is wrong. And therefore it must not be included in game. Oh, and all game premise is stupid. You should not do this game." I color-selected previous quoted sentence to distant myself of it. It's not my opinion, it's the exact opposite of my opinion. But if there is correct free-fall acceleration up to terminal velocity, which depends on atmospheric pressure from one side and gliding qualities of falling object from the other side, and if game is correct in its' calculations of amount of kinetic energy (and damage) to falling object (and place it falls to, 3rd Newton law) — that would be awesome as hell. And mind you, people who do not care about such things, won't complain at all. Because this way, this game will be intuitive and realistic in a good way. There is "realistic in bad way", of course. In frame of Starbound, that would be, for example, realistic anatomy and physiology of player character. You got bullet? You are dead. Or at least have to heal for quite a while in hospital. Okay, even if we have magical super-advanced sci-fi hospitals, you still have way too much complications you should not have had.
you can tame a big fish to ride and you can fish to get food or sell fish. Small underground caves with rare minerals.
Look what I found! http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/the-pixel-weekly-001.1236/ Check out the interview, supporters!!
I'm super glad for this I imagine a water world where the deeper you venture the darker it gets, the larger and more vicious the creatures become.. maybe underwater cave systems.. Another cool thing that might borrow a lot of the same gameplay mechanics would be an asteroid or low atmosphere world that requires a space suit.
