Remember guys this is Starbound. So the ocean animals wouldn't be from earth, they would be procedural too.
Your right. There needs to be randomly generated ocean mobs just like they did on land. If you look at monster hunter, they basically took parts off of other animals and patch them together. So, one species of fish has the body of an ore fish but the head of a deep sea angler. I still would like to see normal crustations and jellyfish mobs every now and then.
What about ocean based parasites? Like the tongue eating louse, its a parasitic crustacean (basically think bigger pill bug looking thing that replaces the tongue in a couple types of fish).
i think this should be added, and as a rare mob, there should be a chuckle fish, that drops a rare item, that is used to craft a rare thing
Is it just me or is there a distinct lack of oceans on planets? I know for sure I've yet to find an ocean world. I'm surprised they aren't in the game, but I do understand why they have not been put in yet, if ever. I'd like to be able to craft or find some underwater gear to be able to explore worlds of that type. Could be boring for some, but I like exploring planets so maybe it's a niche thing? I'm happy with what we have so far, so I shouldn't complain.
Two whole pages and no one's mentioned a kraken-esque creature? C'mon guys, you can do better than that! Rare encounter boss that probably means you're going to die in a couple seconds... but if by some miracle you manage to down the thing, you'd be rewarded with some extra-shiny lootz...
