    Stay on topic guys.

Some people have said it before me, but i'm pretty worried about repetition and overall replayability.
Not to mention the fun factor.

Another thing that nobody has mentioned yet, is the money.
I'm sure there's going to be some kind of coin in this game, but is it going to be useful?
Take Assassin's Creed III for example (people who have played it know what i'm talking about): they added hunting, the homestead, sailing and crafting. All of that just so you can make more in-game money. Is it useful? Nope.

So yeah, in few words i'm afraid that the economic system won't be that useful if we're going to find weapons and armors anywhere.

There is a 100% chance that the entire current dev team will die... eventually.

I'm hazily worried that the races won't feel different - I guess it depends how they're implemented; we know nothing's really unique to a single race, but hopefully the different starter technology will be enough to properly separate them.

From what I have seen from a few videos, Starbound seems to be a very complete game (more than Terraria at least)...
I can't really think of anything that could possibly be missing...

The only thing I can think of could be that interactions between players will be limited...

And anyway, if anything seems to be seriously lacking after the release, it will be said on the forum and possibly added in an update...

That going from planet to planet will just be instant teleportation through a sci-fi themed menu. Seriously, I'd much prefer to have a 2D map where I can get a sense of distance between the planets.

Money has been confirmed to be used but not limited to: buying items from NPCs and buying upgrades. So nothing to worry about there :p

As for the replayability, with the weekly/monthly updates that the devs promised along with mods, I doubt that replayability will hardly be a problem. Repetition is difficult to account for, seeing as unless Rho sprites millions of different parts of every weapon, there will always be some similarity between weapons. It has been stated that there are unique items, so perhaps there will be some types of unique weapons and the like, but we can't expect the game to last forever now can we? :p

If you didn't know Duke Nukem was going to be bad from the day it was announced, you've never played the originals or seen the other games from the company that made it.

    The Devs never said that.
They said that they are going to add more content later on, that's it.

Kind like Minecraft now: an update every 10 months, a bug-fix / bug-creator update every 10 nanoseconds.

They'll be only different by look. But it's enough imo. :)

Also, I wonder if there will still be something to do after reaching the best weapons/armor/other things.

Anyway, I'm concerned about the combat in this game. In one of my Discussing Starbound videos, I mentioned an engine similar to Ocarina of Time - in the sense that different directions + Alt + swing of a sword would equate to different things -, combined with a Skyward Sword-esque one - in which you need to match your attacks to the flaws in your opponents' defense. Also, something like Assassin's Creed where you can grapple, and stuff like that.

I do realize that I am quite hopeful - and perhaps, unrealistic - about the sort of things I would personally like to see in this game. I know that most of my speculations (that don't really serve the purpose of legitimate suggestions) won't leave that category.

    We'll see.

Well I hope if they ever implement this feature, there's a way to turn it off, because I'd like to focus more on building and exploring, and spend less time on dispatching the denizens of enemies that lurks within the catacombs.

Dark soul is a fun game that doesn't features block building; and yet, starbound does.

I do not think we are going to get a "grapple" mechanic, since combat is probably going to be like Terraria: many enemies on screen, tons of chaos.
Moves that focus on single enemies would not work in those situations, but i get what you're saying.

Combat can be a letdown, and now you kinda made me even more worried.

Honestly, the game isn't even gonna be out yet, but perhaps a thing that might lack could be... maybe the option to change the music very easily? Of course, this is highly optional, and the game's music sounds very good, excellent, even, so most people might not even wanna change it.

    But all in all... [IMG]
