I'm actually really excited for the beach ball. Beach ball plus proximity sensors, wiring and clever arrangement of logic gates plus Starbound's building mechanics means we can finally sports to Starbound! With scoreboards!
Oh, alright. The way I see it, though, is that if you set a timer on a beachball-bomb it will probably reset once picked up again. Maybe I'm wrong, though. I guess I'd have to try it out to see.

Video games are pretty much entirely composed of useless things that serve no purpose, except for the purposes you use them for. That's kinda what makes them video games. I think the point you're missing is that video games are made for people to do whatever they want to do. The point is just to have fun. However, what you're basically saying is "If I don't want to do it then no one else should either"... And that's a bad philosophy. The grumpy cat avatar suits you perfectly in this case.
I don't know if this is off-topic, but Starbound has a bunch of amazing music that is currently left out of the stable builds. Those musics are being featured in some of the latest updates, though Any idea on when will those be put in the game? I'm curious if they'll retain the purpose of their titles or if they'll be used for more special occasions.
Seriously though, I suspect that the beach ball and paper airplane serve as proof of concept devices, demonstrating and testing a new item type. Essentially a digital Sputnik if you will.
i just like how you guys are developing joke items instead of focusing on getting the game updated to a more playable state. have you guys read the steam reviews? people think this game is vaporware. they think this game is no longer being worked on. yes you have nightly builds but they are so janky and hard to play that most people don't use them to follow development. i have also heard about peoples legitimate complaints and questions getting deleted and even getting them banned from posting on steam forums. as a fan of this game i would suggest you guys launch another beta update at some point so people who don't really follow the development on this sight know that you guys are still hard at work and still care about the community. anyway keep up the good work and i cant wait to actually play this game again at some point
That stuff looks fun. Glad to hear the stable is making progress, I'm still waiting for it in a thrilled fashion, like when I've ordered a nice rump steak. I love it.
Well the kitchen sink would be a two handed throwable left click would just throw it but right click would drop it in front of you so you can get to a cliff thing and drop a sink on a enemy below. Higher you drop it from the more damage *sneeze* minecraft anvil *sneeze* You better not pop my beach ball. Masters aim for the neck to make them bleed out. I saw this and saw the word drone WE NEED DRONES YOU CAN FLY AROUND. So help me you better have a horse mask on when saying that. ...and a wedding dress...
Like, I am really confused why people wonder why posts are banned on steam. Two words; Caveat Emptor. I for one, am quite pleased with the direction this game is going.
Or "Buyer Beware" for those who think they're too good to learn a few Latin clichés. Edit: incidentally this should not be confused with "Cave Emptor", which is "Beware the Buyer" and is not actually a Latin cliché, but rather a joking conflation with "Cave Canem".
