'Nother Update, new "unstable" branch on steam.

Will probably normally use the unstable testing version unless I have to use the other one for MP purposes..

Although bandwith caps are not a problem for me and the patch sizes weren't really an issue either I understood the point of view of many capped members so compliments on addressing this guys.

Btw I had a few difficulties to find the correct SteamCMD command line, it seems placing the " at wrong position gives different results, below is command line I used to successfully update to branch

Well... since I signed up for beta testing, might as well download unstable version and help out a little.

 

Don't worry. Then chucklefish will just make a beta beta beta.

 

Updates are always appreciated. Knowing updates are likely going to cause problems/delays/ect. before they land is even more so

what do we want? some base optimization of the engine, so that it runs slightly better on low end linux laptops with rather drab embedded graphics!

The downside to this though, is that most public servers are running the stable version of the game... So by using this unstable version, it will be hard to find a server which is using the unstable version.

Feature Request: The ability to throw Po after Po at this Statue!


I'm hopping aboard the Unstable Version! Everyone also doing this, take note: If your Character ends up crashing & burning, remember to stand up straight & salute with your weapon as ya crash & burn into Oblivion for the cool points!

 

i don't know if this has some relation, but my ship just got wiped (i also know another poeple who's ships got wiped yesterday)

 

Oh, Devs, while I got your attention, PLEASE re-enable Melee Kills being able to drop Meat! You've cut me off from capability to get food, as i'm not Katniss Everdeen & can't keep myself in nearly enough food via Archery cause I suck too much buggers at Archery! I NEED capability to get Meat from Melee Kills or you're giving me no choice but to Chain Starve to death! Farming is useless, as staring at those damn crops & waiting for them to grow is too damn boring to do & I swear they don't do a competent enough job at growing at any useful speed if ya try planting them then adventuring while ya wait on them! I'm desperate here! How am I supposed to help Beta Test your game if I can't even keep my Character fed!? Also please implement higher Tier Hunting Knives for crying out loud! Some of us are Melee Peeps who don't have the potential to get good at ranged combat!

 

Axe Garian, that is what the "hunting knife" is there for... make two of them and place them in the L and R slots on your inventory. This will allow you to duel wield and these should be good up until you unlock the third sector... I've gotten 100+ meat just running around for 10 minutes lol

 

Again no lag fix... game is unplayable via steam release...

Sooo... what are you running on? 486 on a Token Ring? My machine is ancient and I live in the boondocks and single and multi player are both fine.

 

Not the person you asked, but i am running on a core2duo 2,4ghz, 2gb ram, 256mb geforce 8600 gts, and 64bit linux, and for me its also unplayable depending on the situation (Prisons, usmc bases for example, stuttering / fps drops like hell, since enraged). Worked way better before that patch.

 

i know that feel, i assume you installed the experimental nvidia drivers? (i assume you have debian since its the most common)
