    i was thinking about something...
instead of planets with technology and planets without it, is there a chance that there's different technologies in planets?
like, a planet with only dumb animal life and no buildings or machines at all, a futuristic planet with spaceships, lasers and stuff like that, but also, a planet with steampunk technology!
or a planet with crystal-energy gathering technology, like atlantis....
    who knows?

That's probably the beauty of Starbound.
Judging from the pictures and gifs, you can for sure take the futuristic way, using pulse carbines and chainswords (yea, not much of a WH40k fan, tho), or take the good old path of swords and bows.

The same can go for planets - you can find virgin jungles and hypermetropolies.
    It's up to you.

Or you can just take a cyclonic torpedo and blow the living hell out of that New York planet in the north of the galaxy! (can we even talk about cardinal directions in space?)

Well I wouldn't be surprised at all if a crystal planet had a civilisation which used the crystals as a power source... Steampunk would certainly be appealing though, it'd be a great planet theme to have.

would be good to have futuristic creatures that are based on normal animals like horses and cows but robotic because it would kind of give a twist on the futuristic "spacey" approach to the game.

In relation to players Technology, you could land on a planet with wild west steam powered technology, or 1930's diesel technology and still get a fair fight with out relying on huge creatures to harass you. Then you could take a mech to a tank battle, or encounter some crack-shot gunslinger.

Exactly! This is why the game will be great is because any anything really is possible. There's so much diversity in technologies on our own planet, so imagine all the differences a galaxy or universe could have spread across them.

And as Kelp said: "Dinosaurs, I don't care if they are not made out of metal and have guns, I'm pretty sure a dinosaur could rip a mech or robot in two."

PS: how do you put 2 quotes in one message? :wut:

I'd love to go to a planet to do some Terraria stuff on it to remind me of the old days!

I am wondering how the devs are going to make swords and shields fit into a universe with space-ships and laser rifles...but I have faith that they'll figure something out.

Old days? Terraria isn't even a year old yet...Oh Never mind. :p
