As I said before additional Grasses spread-able with grass seeds are long finished, but I am not adding them due to the Starbound engine not having a failsafe in the case you use new playermade grasses and then uninstall the related mod without destroying the new grasses first.

In short: If you create a new block-cover (like grass) then uninstall the Mod, the place where the grass was will crash the game when you come near. Other than this, the grasses would work perfectly fine.

Seeing as Blocks have a failsafe in this case, whereas the game simply turns unknown blocks into Dirt blocks I already reported this in the bug report section but it doesn't seem to have gathered real interest.

Should this little issue ever be fixed, you could have these and more:

That could be done, but would attract an equal amount of people crashing their planets because they did not read FAQ/Warnings.

Also, I am simply against adding this before this flaw in the vanilla game is fixed, as I am against tampering with anything that could possibly break planets for players.

Maybe you could program a failsafe then, making it so all others can create similar mods? :p

I've been thinking if this could somehow be done from the modding side, but seeing as its a CTD the very instant the new grass is attempted to be loaded, that seems to be out of the question.
Of course, I'm still considering unconventional means to make it work anyway. For example making it a 1 block object looking like the dirt block and spreading an adjustable horizontal range of grass.

That, however, would be quite a complex effort for something that, in my opinion, should be fixed in the base game. Why should blocks and objects have a fail-safe there and so-called mods dont? (Yes, what covers blocks ingame is simply called a "mod" too - prone to cause confusion with actual Starbound Mods)

The festival light seems to not glow after you pick a colour. Also, can you increase the brightness of festival lights? :3

I made them ~20% brighter and changed it so that the light fits the chosen color, also the larger chains now glow brighter than the smaller ones.

If that's fine with you, it'll come with the next update :>

If you're talking about brightness then yes but don't make it way too bright! If you meant like lightning radius then please don't make it way too much as well, maybe like 10~20% only as they are the subtle festival lights that act like the leaves of the flower. :3

It would be better that was fixed, but I have no idea that's even on the road map.

People would still have the options of reinstalling the mod long enough to remove your stuff, or deleting the planet's file(probably most recent file) so that it gets regenerated.

Besides how many people would want to remove this mod? :) Seems like enough of an edge case to me. But that's just my opinion.

You'll be our festival specialist from now on, when the new lights are in and they are too bright, just say so :p

Hoho, that's damn kind of you to say, seen that way it would of course hardly be a problem ^^
It just irks me that other elements of the game have failsafes to prevent this but ground-mods don't.

EDIT: If I can figure out how to make a kind of clear announcement to players when first time using the grass seeds, telling them the specific issue, I'd gladly add them o:
Also, I must first check whether just re-installing my mod is enough to go and fix it. After all, worlds have this tendency to go into an emergency revert when a world fails to load.

Possibly make it a quest like the Protectorate Flower?

Keeping an eye on my future wishes for my mod here, that's a really good idea - thanks !

Well you can add a radio announcement upon pickup easily enough. But I suppose a quest is less likely to be ignored.

    edit:

Also a possibility is making an external/addon mod for this with a loud warning in the description. Tell people to remove the grass before uninstalling, or be prepared to delete/respawn their world. And an addon-mod might attract additional attention to this mod anyhow... say if it was released around the same time as the bounty-hunter update comes out. Just a thought.

The radio announcement from S.A.I.L. suggested from @bk3k should work but I heard quest can leave a bigger problem when you remove the mod halfway so maybe not that (I think ZZ mech mod has this problem where you've to use another patch mod when you remove ZZ mech mod once you've started the quest). And if you can make the place with those nice grasses safe by simply removing them first and then unsubscribe / delete the mod (who on earth will do that after using it? ), it shouldn't be a real issue as it is easy to fix. :3

I'll apologize one last time for the delays, IRL has taken until now to finally take a break from being a giant nuisance, and the sun doing its best trying to cook us humans ain't helping either. Things are looking up tho !

My bad for jinxing it. Not much looks up, other than typing one-handed since health issues. I want to remind anyone who may listen that I am not going to abandon this mod and will add your suggestions and feature requests I received on steam chat as soon as I can type with two hands again - real talk: ffs this injury is annoying, I wanna mod for ya fellas !
