Like buying style classes from some master guy or something and when you buy it, it says "You've learned the quick poke style! But you forgot your old tank style" xD Btw Sage, you got eaten by a tree
THe idea seems interesting though it may dull the weapons a little bit, because now instead of only a certain class of weapons have certain styles now all the weapons can receive styles that they want. Idk I can see the good in your idea but it might muddle certain unique-ness of weapon classes
I would have thought that different weapons have different styles to them, and instead of only allowing one style. You could sort of equip them from a list, outside of battle though, which would be like, 5 secs after taking or doing damage. This would mean you dont need to buy a new style if you dont like your current one.
AS long as they dont have any weapons as useless as a shortsword from terraria..... worst weapon attack style ever
I agree with this idea. ALL weapons should be useful or at least a possibility among their own tier. Having utterly useless weapons as the short sword is just useless filling content. I mean, hell, shortswords could actually be a great weapon if you make them right! Quick, not too short and not so long as to be hindered by small spaces.
Like if Shortswords did a swing motion instead of a stab but insanely fast it would make it something ppl would use. Like i would have smaller range but slash like crazy. Idk that would make shortswords better than.... stab but u can barely hit anything.
And if space was an issue -if attacks actually hit blocks, instead of passing through them like in Terraria- reach would be a big deal. Big reach weapons would only work on only spaces, but suddenly your dark lance woulnd't seem so useful in those dark, gloomy caves... So switch to your reliable short sword!
That would be interesting. As long as the weapons are balanced it would be great. I mean honestly it all depends on if this game is gonna be more of Players vs players or players vs mobs.... I think its gonna be PvM and then the weapons are gonna be unbalanced and powerful, unless they do a thing where they have servers that are meant for pvp and they adjust the weapons to be balaced. ^ This might be a new suggestion thread now
I think it would be interesting either way. It could have a great impact when fighting underground creatures, or when fighting players, as you could use terrain to your advantage, and as we already said, it would give utility to almost every weapon, even those that at first seem irrelevant.
Lol got me thinking of that part in Kill Bill, when they're in that small motorhome trying to unsheathe their swords in that confined hallwayxD What if for, let's say a dagger user, your character is really nimble and jumpy and slidy and all that and can be like a gymnist? Is there a topic on equip weight here?

I like the ideas, some of them sound rather cool. One problem I have is the actual thread, I just find that the coloring makes it seem a little bit more "cool" than it really is.... but thats just me.
