One thing 2D games are always deficient in is the horror factor. It's hard to get scared when you can easily see what's coming at you at all times. There's only one monster that can scare the pixels off you: The Gaian is the essence of nature and it isn't happy with the way you've been treating its home! This monster is definitely a higher level monster because once the Gaian has you in its sights it won't stop until its satisfied! His height is the same height as the player but moves faster using his thirst for revenge to fuel its speed! Roots and leaves cover its ethereal body with sharp roots to claw and grab onto any trespassers of its earthly home! Being an avatar of nature it has the advantage of growing from anywhere and rushing you faster than you can move! To let you know its angry it will grow from the ground, hover, then charge you so fast you better have the reaction time to attack first and ask questions later. Even though this monster doesn't appear often, it won't let you get away with destroying his home so easily so always be on your toes in a high threat level planet! Nature exists all over the universe so don't think you're safe just because you're on a different planet! Note to Devs/Judges: I'm not the best animator so feel free to edit or tweak my monster any way you wish! The Gaian is truly a powerful force of nature! Pixels can never end its infinite rage!
Cool, the name definitely suits (thanks to power rangers for teaching me who Gaia is, lol). In this game each planet would have it's own individual Gaian, so it works well. Maybe as a gameplay mechanic perhaps if you destroy X amount of blocks, or harvest X amount of flora, etc, it enrages the Gaian and forces him to the surface. As for the sprited you... do you really own a penguin shirt
I'm sure no amount of currency could hold it back, no! Although I enjoy fighting quick, hard to catch/dodge enemies! And it sounds fairly well thought out too! Good job! I hope you get picked!
I hope people will realize the applications to the monster! Scaring people on a 2D plane is not easy to do! My monster accomplishes that and is exactly what this game needs!! Thanks for everyone's suggestions and support!
