No Novakid furniture?

Hey guys,

First of all, I'd like to apologize if this thread is in the wrong section, I'm new to the forums!

Now, to the topic! I'm a proud novakid and I've absolutely love the idea of a train as a ship! To be honest, i'm a little disapointed that we don't have novakid and western furniture in game yet, but that's ok, I'm sure the developers will work on it on future updates!

I've seen the "Let's see your Ship" thread and adored the creativity people have!
Two users in special, Fina and Lucaine, of the Hylotl species, have done amazing work with their ships, even though Hylotl furniture isn't in the game either.

Unfortunatelly, I'm not that creative and I was wondering if you guys could give me examples of how can I do the same with my Train Ship with western-looking furniture.

you would have to use your imagination a bit to simulate a western theme with your train. the floran cooking pot may be good prop for a kitchen and then use the craftable cookingtable and some wooden crates for veggie storage. use a wood background and doors with lanterns as a light source. that may simulate a good western kitchen. just google old train cars for ideas. instead of a passenger car make a bedroom car for the "crew". rinse and repeat for cargo and the rest. just look up pictures online of old west trains and their cars and coppy those with the clsest matching propse in the game. use the wiki, starbounder, to search for the props you will need and in what dongeons, towns, and encounters you will find them in. even better if some of what you need is craftable.

Heriol you are too kind! I'm actually playing on my second character that is a Nova Kid! Galaxy Jane, I can't wait to start decking out the ship with goodies, I will definitely post some pics on it. In the mean time I'd love to see what you have done so far, @Deathedge736 has some great suggestions and I would definitely start with just one room, get the feel you like and then try build on from there.

 

your both welcome. thats my system for decoration. ive spent hours on my floran, human, and avian ships thanks to this. just get some basic rooms built and then fine tune them. Always grab extra props as well. just in case.

Just to give you some feedback, I decided to make my own furniture as you guys adviced.
Here's a pic of how it's developing. It's not finished yet, of course, I still have lots of props to get!

very good. glad to be of help. bit of a warning: some dongeons and villages aren't showing up very often in the current build. just a heads up. you may be in for a bit of a search. the coordinates megathread is a good place to check.

 

Actually, Hylotl furniture IS in the game, it just hasnt been added yet. You can gain access to it using the /Admin command If I recall correctly, OR use a mod that lets you use items that are not currently available (no they are NOT adding items, they just make them "crfatable") such as creative mod or the... spinning wheel spawns all items mod (forgot its actual name)

 

Just to follow up with you guys:
The recent news about novaship furniture made me excited and I finally finished my ship.

I have no idea why, the last cell, where the Avian NPC is locked is kinda bugged. The NPC placed there sometimes just vanishes and never comes back. It simply despawns.
Have you guys ever gone through the same problem?



Anyway, what do you guys think?

Frogg Furnishing in the Outpost has three different sets of furniture that fit Novakid nicely: Saloon, Cabin and Steampunk. The featured set changes every 24 hours, so keep checking back. (Saloon is what you need to place to get Novakid Tenants, by the by.)

The Steamspring Biomes on Frozen worlds also have decor items and Blueprints for furniture that fit Novakid aesthetics, but Blueprints in particular are a bit on the scarce side. I mean, they exist, you just may have to scour a lot of Steamsprings to find them. Copper Pipes are also a good block to decorate your background with.

I'd also consider tearing out those "frames" in the background wall, and replacing them with, say, Pressurized Girders, which you can scavenge a lot from Bone Biomes on Arid worlds (or in underground Bone Biomes that can pop up in just about any higher-tier planet-type, I think). They look a bit more old-fashioned and Industrial Revolution-y.

 

Why do people not check dates? This thread has been dead for almost six months. Seriously.
