RP No Man's Land- Chapter 2: Off the Rails (On Hiatus)

The officer salutes back. "Good hunting out there."
Once you board, you pass a couple dour gentlemen fiddling with their revolvers as you find your seat.

He deals the cards. "We won't be playing for keeps the first round. I'd have to know what you're betting when things get real."

She shakes your hand; hers is also clearly a prosthesis. "You can call me Rook; but we want to get onboard before they leave without us, yeah?"

It's still a little cramped in here, especially for you. A little midway down the car there seems to be a bit of a gathering.

It seems to be in good working order.

The guard scans them with a handheld device before handing them back to you.. "Alright, thank you for your cooperation. Been dealing with a lot of colourful characters today, it's good to see some of you are reletivly 'normal'."

 

He smiles a little bit, "Well..Yeah...You any better a shot now?"

 

Tim walks up to and observes the gathering.

 

She nods, taking a look at her hand...

 

He nods and holsters it before settling into his seat half-shutting his eyes.

 

His hand rests for a moment on his sidearm before it drops back into his lap. A bit antiquated to be using revolvers, huh?' Once he gets comfortable, the lenses extend over his eyes again, and the keyboard pops out of his arm. He pulls up the mission dossier, looking to see the details of his mission. He keeps the personel files handy, he'll go over them once he has a better idea of what the mission entails.

 

Maxwell nods with a slight smile. He motions for you to lead the way

" Heh. Can't get any better if you're already the best. "

 

Alistair turns back to look at Ramsey.

"What is you place on this train?"

 

He grins as he nods, laying his cane across his lap, taking another look around before relaxing.

 

Jade nudges you one last time before she tries to take a nap

 

He takes off his duster and folds it up, handing it to her to use as a pillow as he straightens up again to keep as best a view as he can.

 

There seems to be a card game in one of the booths.

You've got the ace of diamonds, the ace of clubs, the two black eights, clubs and spades, and the queen of hearts.

It's fairly wordy without telling you much. What little you can glean from it is that you're to report to the base commander when you arrive. It seems the situation is fairly volatile, so the details provided here may no longer be valid.

Rook heads for the train, showing her paperwork to a guard before boarding. The guard turns to you. "Papers, please."

 

Maxwell pulls his papers out of his sweatshirt, he hands them to the guard

 

He looks up, "I'm here to make sure justice is done, staunch Lawman. And you?"

 

He looks away, his brow creasing.

"I'm here to make sure this rail is finished."

 

He raises an eyebrow, "That is why we were hired. Is there more to it for you?"

 

"Thanks... I guess."
He looks for anyone he knows... or wants to know. Chances are he doesn't know anyone here.

 

"Perhaps...but that is yet to be seen"

 

Lance just relaxes and looks at the faces, memorizing and look for any that stand out.

 

He makes a tsk sound. Vague as always, though it looks like the situation is bad at base. These no landers are putting up quite a fight. He moves the report off of his display and back to storage, now going over the dossier. He looks for any pairings between the mercs that would have good synergy, as well as trying to pick out the ones that are just cannon fodder.
