    Um, Starbound highly causes my game to crash and I'm on a macintosh. What should I do?

    Can you tell us what errors you get (if any)?

    Glad to be of service.

    And if I am reading that right (might not be cause i'm a bit sleepy) yeah, the new fan-made (or so I have heard) logo is pretty snazzy.

    I can't really do that, but if I delete my local content, then re-download it, WITH the normal builds, it works.

    Basically, do what I told @FlyingFloran to do.

    Also, @Kawa , I have deleted the whole universe/player folder. With no backups. And Starbound.config. This had better work, fingers crossed!

    Great, I've got MORE errors!

    And on OpenGL:

    *Sigh* I've even deleted the universe folders, to no avail. I get the same errors on the normal ver. (Nightly.)

    Whoa there! Easy on the quadruple-posts. For the sake of avoiding clutter, I'd recommend you edit posts instead of stacking multiple ones back-to-back. Makes things a bit easier to keep track of, especially when you're posting screenshots and whatnot related to an issue you're having.

    Was in a rush. Could you help me with the errors that I've mentioned?

    That doesn't work anymore. *Sigh* What's the item name for Core Fragment?

    Thanks much! :)

    Edit: Er....with the FTL Repair kit, it doesn't seem to work.

    Edit #2: Let me guess, I now have to delete my universe folders and player folders? And with the starbound.config?

    Edit #3: Here's the error.

    I get these errors, now I can't play starbound, I can't go back to the "normal" version because I can't change the beta opt in back to none.... Why can't you just give us upgradeable ships already?! The mods for this stuff tend to be either a box that looks nothing like a ship or something you can only have with a new character...

    That's funny, cos I did exactly that just last week. By accident.

    Back from my little hiatus...

    @FlyingFloran @Ammeg88

    Odd, the player UUID issue should be from an old player trying to be pulled up, and the interfacebar10 issue is from having an old starbound.config. Seems odd you would get that after deleting those files.

    For switching back to normal you might have to try uninstalling starbound then setting betas to none (i think) steam can be odd like that.

    @abuguida

    That should be solved by deleting starbound.config. Also what window manager are you using, it looks vaguely familiar.

    I'm doing nightles and getting some odd errors. So I get all the way through character creation, but when I go to hit my new character these errors: [IMG] What do I do?

    I just switched to nightly mode and had game halting errors.

    I was able to fix it by deleting a bunch of stuff - WARNING - you may not want to do this if you want to keep your saves I'm comfy deleting things and potentially wiping out my game and data - you probably are not.

    Based on a few pages back I deleted starbound.config from the starbound folder. This is fairly harmless as the game will rebuild it and/or verifying files will grab a copy from Steam.

    But that wasn't enough.

    I also had to delete the contents of the player and universe subfolders. I believe this is all your save game data - if you delete it without backing it up, it's gone forever. Nobody can restore it for you. it's gone. Done. Finished. Over. Got it? (now somebody will promptly delete this data and post how they lost all their data)

    If you get overzealous with experimental deleting, just verify files via steam, HOWEVER, it will not do anything for your player or universe data. Delete that without backing it up and it's gone forever.

    Yesh player holds player and ship data while universe holds all the planets you have had rendered.

    Did you backup and delete/move/rename the player (and universe) as well as make sure you have no mods in the mod folder (also delete starbound.config just incase)?

    PlayerUuid errors should be from the game trying to load in an old character, happened when i tried to load up and old char. Nightly is very temperamental.

    That is hilarious! Oh gosh aren't you clever...

    Thanks Link, this seemed to work fine, had to uninstall and then reinstall, luckily I already had a backup of my games :)
