Things are what they are not what people invent. The betas are betas and alphas are alphas The earth is the earth and the moon is the moon. You can not sell me meat and make me take fish. Things are what they are. And is not to complain is a review. And like i say in the post you quote i talk about all off-topic like this in PM dont make mor off-topic of mi comments (The moderator say post ago)
Oh, well you just go to the properties of the ga... Oh, I see what you did there. What about inventions? Are those what they are, or what people invent? You are trying to equate abstract concepts to material objects using tautologies, and it just doesn't work. I don't see how talking about the dev cycle in a thread about nightly development builds is really off topic.
i wonder when people realised that this is basicly a prealpha for an alpha for a beta no duu its gonna crash then again i olny had 1 crash and it was becouse i had my mods installed anywho anyone know the item that levels up ships?
Unfortunately, the game is reliant on Steam for the moments. One of the biggest reasons for this is for updates. There has been discussion of a non-Steam version, which (if the plan is still...well, planned) will be available closer to full release when updates aren't as numerous as they tend to be in early beta.
Err... ok abstract conceps... The topic is talk about nightly development not quote me and talk about my personal opinion of the nightly development and debate me I talk this in PM like i say in my other post not here, you dont need to quote me if you dont like my opiniont tell me in PM if you like it press like button. The admin say this in post #94
i know its supposed to be broken but i cant even start it. keep getting microsoft visual c++ runtime errors
Neat! I'm probably gonna stay away from this for now, but finally, console commands! Now I've gotta see if it can spawn monsters by specific IDs (like custom names). If so, I can make my own randomized monster types! Time to make a Big Daddy! Also, people can get really vicious considering how hard Chucklefish works and all of the warnings that have been given thus far. I doubt there'll ever be another company with this type of a relationship with gamers (having a mod section on their own site, actually talking to and listening to people, etc.). And with the regular, varied-detailed progress updates, it's super apparent that people are doing their best (or at least trying). Plus nightly builds aren't mandatory! It's like looking into a moving picture of the game's future if it were Picasso's version of Pandora's Box (basically). It's so far alpha that its title is probably the first ever Phoenician letter for "A", and stops just short of letting people invade the Chucklefish offices for a quick peek inside. People who appreciate that sort of thing (I know I do) will obviously open the gates, and those who have made characters and universes that have been meticulously crafted like porcelain sculptures should probably not even touch it (or will happen to your stuff). aaaaand let the personally-directed attacks begin!
There is a page where the params for commands and stuff are being centralized: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?posts/2062685/ I read the mod warning. We are on topic (development cycle) and we are not insulting one another, but as you wish, I'll stop arguing with you about it.
This has been a feature of gaming for a very long time and will continue to be, despite forum drama or abuse. You're just being silly about it now.
It`s not so rare for indie devs. But it is always good when developers trying to be closer with player, despite the fact sometimes they should NOT listen to players that do not actually know what they really want.
im still trying to find out how to spawn the items to upgrade you ship (if they still exist but i think they do) it used to be /spawnitem shipT(number) but it doent work =p
Well now I feel kinda stupid since this is the first time I've been a part of a game community while the game itself is in production. But in my defense, people can be extremely cruel and discouraging and I'd thought I'd say something nice. This whole thing seems like a mountain of stress and I can't imagine what I'd feel if I worked there.
It looks like the items to upgrade your ship past 'fixed' simply aren't in the game, but you can create them. It involves unpacking assets, modifying files, and repacking. I just got my ship upgrade, and working on a little guide Edit: I put a guide on how to upgrade the ship here: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/collection-of-admin-codes.80548/#post-2062521
