Looking forward to playing around with this! For my thread contribution, the command /spawnitem alienmeat 1 spawns the alien meat you can't hunt yourself due to lack of enemies. EDIT: DO NOT ACTUALLY DO THIS. It appears that the game can't currently handle that quest being completed and dies horribly. (I guess this might double as a bug report)
Looks like that is actively in development and is being altered. To be expected. Luckily it was only quests.
One, because I am completely new to admin commands and found that one out by chance, and two because as I edited into my post above cooking alien meat apparently crashes the current nightly and is therefore not a good idea.
Floran lore allows this. You stole it from a Hytol after a battle. CHUCKLE FISH LEAVE THIS BUG UNPATCHED!
Nightly is not for everybody. It is meant mainly for coders \ modders \ those interested in essentially dynamic changes. If your a normal average person who doesn't like glitches. You should avoid nightly. For modders they will be able to start planning updates for their mods by seeing what new features are available to go wild with. Also you will need to change your branch back to stable. Then revalidate files - if you want to get it working again.
Can we see someone make a script for making a thread for each new nightly so that we can see what people have to report each day from that nights work? It could also help you guys out as an easy to find bug list. Why make it work? It is working. The nightly is doing exactly what it was advertised to do. Nothing broken here. Go away before you break the nightly!
Tiy already stated there isn't need for bug reports for nightlies. Essentially nightlies are a work in progress, that the developers are aware of the issues. Bug reports are for the Unstable branch where developers pushed out a moderately stable build for first round bug testing. Once the major bugs are squashed - it gets pushed to stable, where second round bug testing happens. http://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/28a9al/first_nightly_is_out/ci8y08b
I am aware of the difference between patches and explained this kind of thing earlier on in the thread (and I believe you his that little like button as well), but it could still lead to some otherwise undetected bugs, or even better the production of ideas that the devs may choose to implement. Really I was just trying to justify an easy way to find each night(lie)s chaos for my own entertainment. Honestly if I was CF I would not be releasing nightlies so early in development. This would be far better later on after the obviously massive update we have coming. However your explanation would be a valuable thing to have for people with less understanding of how this works with the various builds. Also for completion I feel it might be good to include my more in depth break down of it all: TL;DR: Read the first quote in the post.
Is it possible to get these updates without steam update? I'm on a public router that has Steam ports blocked.
