    I suspect the food system serves to provide passive buffs in the same way potions did in terraria. Apparently it takes about 2 hours for your character to get really hungry. So, it hardly seems like an inconvenience to me.

    Hunger system ftw, hopefully there'll be a body sickness system where if you spend time naked on an ice planet you get your stats messed up cause of a cold, if not hopefully moddable.

    One of the biggest things this stream has enlightened me of is the fact that the Starbound game screen will be adjustable for any resolution. ANY RESOLUTION! It is stated that you can even have the screen go across two monitors... this is pure epicness.
