New "Trees"? Giant Daffodils?

So in the new daily update, Tiy shared some images of how campsites can be found. In the pictures he showed us, there were some rather unique trees in the background. I'll let you look for yourself.

So what are your opinions on the foliage diversity? Hot or not?

 

I find it to be fantastic I like unusually large plants

 

Yeah I remember those from a stream.

 

They arn't exactly new, they have been in several streams.

 

These aren't new... but yeah they sure are giant daffodils?

Go to about ten minutes in to find him taking a chainsaw to similar tree-flowers.

 

Oh, well, I had no idea. I've been paying attention to streams, but couldn't remember seeing them before. Apologies...

 

I'm curious to see what type of building materiel will be dropped from the gigantic flowers.

In the video they drop wood, but Tyi mentions that they still need work.
Seeing as wood is the typical "starter material" for shelters and what-not, it could make for very unique beginnings.

I think they're daisies, but that's just me.

 

I remember last year I suggested they put in trees that were not trees. Here is the result.

I love the oversize flowers. Foliage diversity is always a big plus to me, especially in a game that attempts(and so far succeeds) to be as diverse as Starbound is.

 

now here is the question
if there's a new tree type
do they drop new kinds of wood?
or do they all drop a somewhat the same kind of wood

 

Bio-diversity is always cool. One might even say it's "temperate".

 

This isn't that new, shown already months ago in another stream. It looks some flowers, not quite trees, in a mini-biome separated from the normal one. :alien:

Why? They are in the exact same position and they look the same, except the second one is lit from the inside, where the person is.

 

Variety is always nice.
