It's definitely entertaining. You should play with bartwe the next time you stream it, though. He plays at a normal pace, lol, and it speeds you up.

well they haven't actually asked anyone not to post videos of it. atleast not from what ive seen. besides this helps them more than it hurts i would think.

I'm definitely going to have to catch one of Leths stream next time it's up, seems like she genuinely plays the game for fun . Any in game streaming is always worth watching.

They have. Repeatedly. Even going as far as to say that if people keep doing it the streams would stop altogether. I know. I'm in most of their streams.

 

Thanks for the stream! Whatever people says about the morality of that, it really pumped up my dying hype for this game!

Im saying that if they were serious about it they would have it in the forums atleast. Not everyone goes to the streams at the same time.
Its possible the people uploading these videos dont know that.

Besides even before this particular video there were quite a few videos put on youtube. [other than the ones tiy put up]

+Germanperson Eh, still a bit of a jerk move dude. We don't like this stuff being online permanently because the game is still in a really rough state. Things like Leth not figuring out how to use the campfire or the spiders not having any attack AI or the bow being completely broken are not representative of how the game will be, and having this stuff online like that might wind up turning people off. I definitely appreciate wanting to do something nice for other people. But we do have our reasons for asking it to remain reasonably private, and they're not capriciously evil reason, so I wish you would have respected that.

So Omnipotent is hopping people buy the beta before they see these video because they might get turned off? Won't they see it when the game comes out? Is it not a good thing show people what they are getting into before they buy the beta?

I am not annoyed at the recording of the stream. Recording it for your personal enjoyment? Fine.

Uploading it anonymously so others can look? Also fine, i guess (even if it was said not to record, at the start, i was watching the stream and there was multiple requests not to record it)

What annoys the hell out of me, as a developer and a journalist? - The fact this guy is profiting from content that is NOT his creation. The video is on some random guy's channel, who is now getting massive boosts to his channel and publicity. That, is not fair.

I haven't watched the video because i watched most of the stream before passing out for sleep.

On a side note, i would like to see Leth host the video now its out there, and for Chucklefish to have this one taken down. Its just not cool for this guy to be getting views that he doesn't deserve because he ripped a video.

 

I don't know why everyone is freaking out. No developer has commented on this post. Talk about what was seen in the video or a thx, but stop posting nonsense about how this shouldn't have been recorded, until a developer chimes in, IN THIS POST not a 3rd party site.
Also to say that people will be turned off by the bugs they see in game is just stupid. They have been warned in Tiy's post about "How the beta will work". So what's the big deal? Are they afraid someone might not see tiys post and only see the video? Stop Hand holding morons that don't even bother to keep up to date with the game. For every one person that decides to not get the game that is another 10 people who decide to get it from these videos.

 

Omni chimed in on the video in YT. That's more than enough. But of course you don't care about that. These streams are a nice little treat and in depth view into what it takes to make Starbound. However disregarding the explicit wishes of CF is a very good way to take that treat away. Be thankful they stream at all.

 

You act like I recorded it and I posted it after I found out he didn't want it recorded.
1st quit defending developers they can do it themselves. If what I did was bad they would have told me and taken this post down.
2nd I didn't record this. I only posted it on the forums.
3rd Yeah your right I don't care about 3rd party sites when I am discussing this post and not others.
4th Get your facts straight before you get accusatory.

I find it more appealing to watch this than being teased almost 4 weeks in a row about ''beta is comming soon'', we are preparing for beta'', beta almost there.

Everyone is fussing around a small video that probably restored the faith in SB for many, but noone is pointing the fact that we have been teased by the devs for like 2 months with "BETA IS COMING RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER GUYS".
