Wait, so are you saying seth wanted views on this "doodle's video" site? I don't really get what's going on here; why would seth upload a video if he didn't want to spoil stuff?

I real wanted to see the book with the lore and how it worked. too bad.

 

He used one earlier in the night.

You use it (with "e" if I remember correctly?), and it gets added to your codex (don't remember if it got consumed or not, but I think it might have, I don't remember seeing it afterward), and then you can read it at your leisure along with other lore you've gotten in the past by bringing up the menu on the top right.

 

Leth is one of the Wanderlust developers. He has access to the current version* of Starbound. The stream was public but Leth said at the beginning of the stream 'I don't know if they want this stuff being recorded' - this was not included in the recording because it's missing a small chunk. JuiceBox is saying that the YouTuber is just trying to get views but honestly the video poster's reasoning is sound if you read his comments on YouTube. Whether it matters now or not we don't really know. It could mean they are getting close to a stable build for all.

I don't think Leth really cared if he spoiled stuff or not that's really the watcher's fault.

 

Well...the stream is open to the public, someone recording the stream when the game isnt even out yet is bound to happen.
And if it really bothers Chucklefish that this happen then i would just suggest not letting anyone stream it in the first place.

 

I would prefer you guys discussed the content of the stream rather than the moral significance of its existence (as much as I am a sucker for ethical debate). =P

As for my playstyle - I'm just that kind of player in open world games; I take it slow and try to appreciate the finer details. For example, I never fast-travel in Skyrim because I feel like I miss out on the journey that I skipped. =]

 

Honestly guys it's good to have streams, it's free PR, also it's interesting to watch

 

Yeah sorry but I guess I was frustrated cuz I like seeing new things. Things got done painfully slow for my taste but continued watching because I love starbound game play. People don't have the game yet and want to see new stuff. They don't really care that about 30 min debate to inspect poo. They want to see cool stuff.
If you did a longer stream or more regular I probably wouldn't mind it. But I only got an hour.

 

I was attempting to entertain the audience on top of playing the game. =]

Keep an eye out for when Tiy plays; he always shows off new goodies/content.

 

Sadly tiy streams once every millennia now. I would watch more of your streams if they were more frequent or longer.

 

If there is no spoilers, or if he's streaming something at all. I like Leth's style bcause there is no rush. Just fun.
I must also to point out that Leth is one of the few people who actually reads the chat.

 

Well, I'm glad someone recorded it, as I always miss the livestreams.. But anyways, back on topic.

I've noticed that a lot of people are complaining about the way Leth is playing, but this is the playstyle I enjoy watching the most,
not people that blaze through it so fast that you don't know what's going on .

If Leth livestreams more in the future, I sure hope I don't miss it . (I probably will though )

 

IT was a good stream, I mean I kinda liked the outhouse dungeon myself, makes me really look forward to the final version

The streamer is slow and somewhat less deliberate in his actions, but it's semi nice to be able to look at all the details while the pace is slower. I too enjoyed the outhouse dungeon.

The streamer may have asked that it not be recorded, but the bottom line is the stream was done publicly and therefore zero obligation to acquiesce the request. If the developers want to control the content being released, they need to privately stream, consider NDA, or both. While my viewpoint may seem rude, it's really not. It's simply about understanding the obligations and expectations of others under the setting in which the actions take place and protecting your interest / investment appropriately.
