New Starbound Stream

May i tell you the sacred rules of internet?

I always miss the streams, so seeing them in videos is easier for me.

 

I watched the stream from the very start to the very end live, and he said at the start (before this guy recorded the stream) that he didn't want anyone recording this and posting it on Youtube, or anywhere for that matter. He said he didn't mind if you told your friends to go watch the stream live.

 

on trems with the guy who made the recording,
he did enter the stream AFTER he sead no recordings, so he didnt know

honestly i like that it was recorded, now i can watch it and rewind and stuff any time i want lol

 

Thanks for the video! Really why are they getting mad to show off the game? I can't dilly dally on the forums all day waiting for someone to live stream because i have a jaaabb so this is really nice and i thank you for posting it so i could watch it later

im not gonna post it, but if it were anywere its not on Reddit

if anyone has a proplem with the videos just dont watch them, but people who missed them now get a chance to see it, dont be selfish =o

 

Recording streams is only really malicious if coding is present during it, since it can be copied by someone else and possibly stolen. However, if the person who streamed the video doesn't want it recorded, it shouldn't be recorded. I don't know if this gent minds or not, and judging from this threads continued existence I'd say the devs or at least the mods don't care, so for the time being it's fine. But if the person who streamed it originally says for it to go down, it should go down.

 

Juice Box, (who was watching the stream) will explain.
Leth, the developer of Wanderlust streamed the game last night. He wanted no one to re post the stream to Youtube because, (JB forgets the reason). He did very specifically ask at the start of the stream that no one would do that. Of course, Juice Box, as well as others found the doodle's video that was posted last night. A desperate attempt to get views. Chucklefish did not mind Leth streaming though, considering Bartwe joined at the end of the stream and was talking to him. Juice Box was in the stream chat staying active during the course of this, at some time you may hear him mentioning "Juice", or at one particular stage he mentioned a tampon, that was also Juice Box's *input*.

Look guys here's the scoop about the video. I saw the Bart stream last night and though they might have recorded their stream so I could watch it again. Low and behold I found this video on youtube. It wasn't the video I was looking for but I thought hey I think it would be cool to post this so that the people who are actually interested in starbound can see it. I had no idea, that according to some, he said not to record it. Ragging about a video being posted will just result in less videos being posted.

His reasoning was something along the lines of "The Starbound devs were nice enough to let me stream this, and I don't know if they want this stuff being recorded."

The devs don't record their videos, but I've never seen them take down or delete posts of people that did... So I don't get where this hubbub is coming from. I've watched just about every single stream of the game, and have only ever seen 2 of them live.

Always found out about them from the forums; Never seen a dev say it wasn't ok.

Because 3rd person context requires a rocket science major to decipher. Unlike most, JB keeps something fresh about his posts, I actually enjoy reading them.

On topic, Looks like the damage has already been done. Watch it while you can before it gets nuked off the youtube world.
Like some here I disagree with some of these demands for no recording. I can understand from a Devs perspective where there is code involved but simple (I say that word.. Literally) gameplay shouldn't be a problem.

 

The streamer was just being overly cautious, you're allowed to record the reason twitch doesn't save the videos is because live streams can go on for hours on end not because of privacy issues. Also if your streaming, you should expect the possibility of recordings to happen . If this is news to anyone then welcome to the internet.

Also the devs have posted live streams on the official news page, and there is no reason a dev should want this video removed.

Well, I saw it live back then. To be honest, if you stream something "in public", you can't really be so naiv to think that someone (out of ~300 people) will not record your stream. Especially since streams are always at times you normally can't watch them, and people have been waiting for beta for a very long time (so they will grab what they can). If they don't want something to be recorded, don't show it

Ps: I couldn't watch Leth for too long.. I don't have the amount of patience needed to watch his playstyle but he was very likeable.

 

Aww, no. Now i watched that video and it totally hyped me up for Starbound again. Just when i learned patience. Thank god the year is almost over, can't be long now... no, no. No long wait no more. Must... seek out the ... STAAAAAAARRRRSSSS!

 

I didn't think I could get any more hyped for this game but that is exactly how watching the vid me feel. Sure it shows some bugs but that is pretty minor when you see how amazing it all blummin looks being played. I am itching to get my hands on the game even more so now.

Also would it not be safe to say, this thread would be gone by now is it were such a truly horrible crime? Leak threads usually disappear within a matter of seconds not days if devs have issue with them.

 

One thing I was a little surprised about was the sparcity (real word?) Of the dungeons. Obviously therr are going to be bugs and mobs that don't work correctly but there weren't many mobs ro begin with. Now I know that there will be implementation makong dungeons to unbreakable until you destroy a certain item within it which is good. I also hope that it extends to creating blocks as well because putting bridges over gaps is lame. The last thing is that dungeons shouldn't all be open to the surface. Perhaps some should open up into a cave makng it a little harder to find. Anyway more mobs is the first step.

I did find the dungeons to be very asthetically pleasing so that's good. The sewer under the outhouse was clever and I suspect there is more content like that. I also enjoyed the tutorial quests. They are an excellent way to figure things out I know there are plans to expand on it so the devs know it can be expanded even further.

 

seeing this makes me think beta must be just around the corner, I'm hoping for next Friday (last one in Nov)
