New Spaceships

Well Hangman, most likely i figure the modules pre-made. but hopefully easy to mod! they could for instance release a til set pack, aka pieces you just put together in Photoshop etc and mod it in.
and we can place stuff in it, Molly i believe made a gif, that showed amazing remodeling and usage of space in the spaceship. don't recall where thou, quite awhile ago.

 

Ermm, don't forget they talked about upgrading ships also, this could be an upgraded Hylotl ship Bartwe was testing before?

Quite pretty indeed. Almost makes me want to make an Apex now.

 

It does look to me like this is not the starting ship. Unless they made it much bigger. This might be the new way of doing upgrades instead of adding a weird extension to the ship. Now I'd like to see how it looks in other races style.

 

Seems very clean like imperial ships in star wars, I would have preferred more gritty and oppressive but it works.

 

Hahaha I really want to play a Han Solo type character.. My ship is gonna be my home ;D

 

Guys you can add decorative items, beds, or so on, Molly on the gif i recall seeing split the room into 2 floors, by adding a floor panel in the middle of the "room", hmm.. if i only could recall where the gif was.

 

I hope I can fill it with chests, 'cause if I can I'm never building a house.

 

Hmm... honestly, I loved the new design! If you ask me, it looks way more retrofuturistic than previous design, almost making me think of 2001: A space odyssey and, um, other movies about space travel of that period...

 

Why would you need a towel rack when you're supposed to keep your towel with you at all times?

 

looks like an upgraded version due to it having more space, at least it looks bigger

Good job starbound artists, the ship looks really great.

 

I hope this means custom spaceship design is possible, instead of a fixed redesign/new standardized hull.

 

I actually really like the original ship designs. They're quirky and simple, great for starting out (I mean, a dolphin-shaped ship? That's adorable!). BUT! I do agree ship customization, if not simply the ability to choose a different ship, would be really ideal. I'd really like it if I could buy or craft ship parts and build onto my ship in a similar way to making everything else with blocks, but with dedicated pieces like thrusters and fins and such to match the look of the various ships. And without being locked to my race (the Floran ship is ok, but it seems really naturally dark even with bright lights inside).

All that said though this ship looks nice enough. I'd be kind of sad if we lost our race-specific ships to something like this, but ah well.

Is it me, or does this ship look a bit like a luxury cruise line?

 

That apex character spawned in it so it's definitely an apex ship. Bartwe also went on a Hylotl ship during the stream, and they still look the same as before.
