Am I the only one who is wondering about the metal trees... Do you cut those bad boys down for metal or do they still give wood or are all trees purely aesthetic in this game?

Looks great, I love the nice transition of depth of the water too. I really can't wait for the water physics video.

that big blue mess in the first picture is water ? but wth ? theres no wall to keep it from flooding the cave. and its like in the background too or something ?

I think the comments make it more confusing. The first picture in the original post is just the blue of the background, it isn't water. We were discussing the picture of water that devilbro posted a few posts back, but he appears to have changed the picture to a completely unrelated one instead....

Then look at bottom left. See the blue background?
Look at it's top part! Waves and clouds.
I dunno if there's been an another water picture, but this one is what I was talking about when talking about water.

Edit: Actually, they seem to be bushes, not clouds. Reminds me of the Mario trick...

 

well my confusion also stems from the fact that over that mysterious blue mess, there is background foliage coherent with the background aboveground, which make the blue mess indeed look like its water, but whatconfuse me is that theres nothing keeping it from flooding the cave, it just stays there.

 

its not water, its the background hills/mountains, its just blue. Compare to other above ground screen shots.

 

Yeah it's weird.
To me it seems that the background wall is holding the water from spreading. ...which doesn't make any sense.

that dosent make sense either, the background is tree foliage, why would it cut like that all of a sudden in weirdly colored hills ?

 

Or, you know....the trees could just be behind the hill...

But the first time I saw that image, it confused me. Not sure why.

 

It has been said that water flows into the background if there are no background blocks there, but I doubt that is water. It has a wave/hill look to it, and water is all blocky at the moment.

 

Oh sorry, my bad! I wondered why it had suddenly changed....

Lol, no that's the picture I said wasn't water I was basically talking about this picture, albeit a bigger, less crappy quality version of it, but I can't seem to find that right now. The water has a nice gradient to it, whereas the blue in the original posts photo (the one that you just linked ) is just the hills in the background showing through holes in the cave. We've seen the blue hills a few times in other photos.
