Outdated New Race Jumpstart Kit 1.3

A race-creation resource for new modders, by a new modder.

    I see... I checked that part. And just saw... A massive amount. And just thought.. "Well, that must be where race armor are." As in.. crafted armor and all.
    Thank you very much Mackinz. I will.. also see and unpack the game's assets. to see the.. Vanilla/Bare minimum of racial clothing.

    I think that this resource should be changed so that, instead of the barest minimum of assets, it contains everything necessary to start a new race like Daim's Dummies did. Just a recommendation~

    I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting here. The bare minimum is everything necessary to start a new race; you can literally plug & play this resource as a working mod. Just looking at the page for Daim's Dummies, this mod and that one seem to be functionally identical, just for different versions (and this one uses the vanilla human assets instead of custom 'generic' assets).

    Also, the AI text patches are technically optional, and were included to reduce tedium. I do need to apply a fix for a graphical error on the tech screen that I discovered while updating the Beldehor, however (they're being developed in parallel, and this was derived from that), which I'll do later tonight.

    Well, I consider the difference between "barest minimum" and "everything necessary" to include basic things like basic racial clothing and weapons, as well as a custom treasurepool for the ship. "Barest minimum" and "basics", essentially. Daim did use Human assets like you, but Daim also took some time to make sure that new modders would have a better idea of how to complete their race.

    Just saying, I used Daim's Dummies to originally make my Gallavoir, and, last night/today combined Daim's Dummies with your necessary updates to create a new starter kit. It was pretty cool.

    Gey, @Wall of Knowledge, do you have any plans to update your template mod? I know there are a number of people who would be interested in having a template that is up-to-date with Glad Giraffe.

    I could probably do that, yeah. There shouldn't be too much to fix, anyway.

    Also, now's as good a time as any to mention it: My computer's on the fritz currently (and has been for a while), so I'm working from my new laptop. Unfortunately, the update I had been working on for the /sbg/ race mod is on that computer, so I won't be able to update it until I get that fixed.

    Thanks for making this - made me able to fix my old race and get it in-game (almost)!

    A few things:
    ships not defined as 'myspecies' anywhere (not images, not in files)
    ai.config.patch missing the line: "portraitFrames" : "portraits/humanportrait.png",

    That would be because it's desperately out of date; I don't think it has the grunt lines either.
    I'll probably get around to updating it, but I couldn't say when.

    It's not updated for use with the current update. Do not use it until @Wall of Knowledge fixes it.
