This is a good initiative! I can't wait to read some of the stories you people come up with. Hell, maybe ill try to come up with something as well. I was never a good writer but ill throw one in for the heck of it. Edit: Yep, all done and sent. 493 words. Nothing too flashy, I made mine a bit mudane so I dont expect to win. I had fun writing it however. If anyone wants to read let me know.
Writing within a word count is suffering for me. I've currently managed to butcher my entry down to 516 words and I'm not sure what I want to cut out to get that last bit in there to fit.
Sure, send it to my email: mrcoolpossum@gmail.com. Please give me your email when you send your story so you can read mine. Don't be afraid to give constructive criticism! Anyone want to read my story? Constructive criticism is fine, don't pretend it's good if it isn't, I can just write a new one.
Oh, only 500 words? That sucks, my Starbound story that i already had made is about 126 pages long so far. [DOUBLEPOST=1438544727][/DOUBLEPOST] Sure, I don't see why not. I am an author in my free time. (my mom said I write better then her college students!)
Exactly five-hundred words! The ending isn't exactly what I had in mind, but it still works. Now I just have to edit it a little.
What should we do if we dont have a way to count the amount of words written? I do not have access to a writing program, exept for notepad....what can i do?
Can you install Notepad++? If so, it has a plugin called TextFX which can count words. Or you can use an online word-counting webpage.
I was wondering, perhaps chucklefish put in an auto-reply message, so we know our work was received. As much as i have faith that they will review our entries, it would be a shame if someone had an unknown issue and either sent it to the wrong address or the email has it sitting in the outbox the whole time. That has happened to me a couple times before
I know this question's been asked a lot recently, but I can't find any post explaining it - are we allowed to submit multiple entries, or only one? I suppose it would be best to err on the side of caution and just submit one story, but I've got a couple of ideas and I don't want to waste them. Eh, worst case, I'll write them all out, decide on one to submit, then put up the other two on here.
There are also quite a few in-browser word counters! Though beware, some count differently from others. The one I linked says my entry is 488 words, while OpenOffice believes it to be 500.
