New Picture by Tiy - Avian Armor!

He mentioned it being the "first tier". What do you guys think?
In case anyone is wondering, yes that is a Robot wearing Avian armor. Just to prove that armor can be worn no matter race.

Update: According to Tiy, later tiers have wings for avian armor! This means that better tiers also bring better abilities!

 

Hopefully them trees spawn naturally.

Edit: The weapon does not look nice at that angle while zoomed in, hope they fix this somehow because now that I have noticed it I will always notice it in game.

 

Cool stuff! Also, I love how good the resolution is when zoomed in that much.

 

Likely, we've seen many of those in screenshots. It's probably a staple of avian villages.

This is probably be related to the "item levels" we saw in the temporary crafting screen, and I was expecting as much. After all, 100 levels of difficulty is too many for a single set of armor to provide a consistent challenge through. Different levels of the same armor probably will require more advanced/rarer materials and also give bigger bonuses.

 

Aren't they for the Fluran race?

 

I can't believe I mixed those up. Guess I immediately associated birds=trees, and forgot that Avians can't fly.

Wait... I get it now! Penguins are undercover Avians!

 

is it just me or is that floran armour the robots wearing.
i could have sworn i saw florans wearing them.

The first tier refers to the 10 tiers of racial armor. I posted what Tiy said in IRC here.

 

Maybe the higher tiers cost more/require more materials/you need to complete a quest chain that will give you better tiers every so often?

i like the image, and the robot looks boss as f*ck in that armor
but the gun doesn't even look like the dev's made it: it looks like someone slapped it on over top of the actual image
