I copy paste here the post from another Thread - The new star map is really bad and the previous one with the Threat Levels on Planets was way better - check it out :

Hmmmm, I don't like the new Leveling system in this patch - I'm talking about the Star Map and the Solar Systems.

Before this patch each Solar System had various planets with different Threat Levels, ie : 1 planet with level 6, another one with level 2, level 4, and so on.

Now each time you kill a Boss and upgrade the Star Map with new sectors, your level increases - Level 1 ---> kill the first boss ---> level 2 ----> kill the second boss ---> level 3, and so on. Each solar system have ALL the planets of the same level as the New Sector you are in.

I think it would be much better re-set the random Threat Levels for the Solar Systems ( and also the Mobs ), because in this way - Annoyed Koala patch - you won't bother anymore to explore the level 1 planets in the First Sector once you reach the Level 2 ( the exploration is kinda killed in this way - same for the Loot , who woul go back in the Level 1 sector when you know that you will drop crap item, since your level 2 items are much better ? ).

With the random Threat Levels, you save coordinates and go back in that solar system that had high Threat Level - this will add back more Exploration between those Solar Systems.

In less words : Would be cool to get back the random Threat Levels for the Planets and Mobs / NPC, instead to have all of the same level.

    ------------------------------

I talked with other players about this - they agreed with this OP ( same for my clan, 13 players atm said the same thing ) and they want back the previous Star Map with different Threat Levels on the Planets, instead to have them all of Level 1, Level 2, etc etc, in each Sector you will unlock.

There is no point now to go back in the Level 1 sector when you reach Level 2 . The fun stuff of the previous Star Map was to write down the coordinates and go back in X solar system to check the remaining planets you have not yet explored, since they were too high for your current equip and stuff.

    What you guys think ?

Old star map just made me head off to the highest threat level I can find and cheese out a top tier weapon from somewhere on it.

At least now I have more reason to explore around.

Honestly, I'd rather they just make it so planets display one of three difficulties: easy, medium, or hard. I'd even be okay with not having any indicator of how difficult a planet is forcing me to find out for myself.

You are forgetting that we are in early beta. Current threat levels make much more sense after new biomes and stuff is added.

I'm yet to leave my starter planet, as I've been building a base of operations, explored the entire planets surface am just now starting to dig my way under the surface.

From what I've read the planets still range in 'threat level' it just is not displayed as informatively as it was previously.
People seem to have this 'away team' mentality, that once you've done the surface of the planet, you've done ya job.

NO, get that pickaxe out ya butt-hole and start digging redshirt!.

That's your strategy, and that's cool. Other people like to away-team it on multiple planets. Which is cool too.

But I still think you shouldn't know what you're getting into when you go down to a planet. I never liked seeing threat levels on top of sector tiers.

I have to agree with Zulgaines. I would even go a step farther and suggest removing planet levels all together. I want to be surprised by every world I visit. How the hell would a guy in a starship know the 'level' of a planet anyway if he's never been down there and faced it's monsters?

Yeah, I'd have to agree really Zulgaines.
pre-patch, I honestly never checked the level of a planet, I had a wierd way of just going to desert or snow planets.
Logically, they'd be the least inhabited, in my mind anyway, So I just hoped to find some cool stuff or settle :D

Those are feedbacks and we need to talk about the game, so the Devs can polish it and try some other ways. Beta is made for this.

Nope, now the Threat Level is based on your Star Map sector unlock. Ie: if you kill the UFO, you will unlock the Threat Level 2 sector, and so on for each boss you kill.

With the previous patch, we have dig the ground, we have explored the depths, etc etc, and took around like 10~ Hours of gameplay to reach the next Threat Level. Now with this new star map and those semplifications it took 1 hour max 2 to reach Level 2... you are not encouraged enough to explore. And we have not checked out only the surface. The ore spawns is too much / there are too many.

Tiy addressed this, he said the ore rate this patch was way too high, so enjoy it while you can.

I wouldn't be against a ship upgrade that allows you to read the basic biometrics of a planet.

Like if it has civilization and what not.

    What this guy said.

An yes, I did the same... just went to higher level planets and got better stuff early on. At least now you have more reason to stick around on lower level planets - which is sweet because the mobs are harder.
