New NPC Race?

Aggressive, capable of breeding explosively, territorial, and hungry.

I'm not surprised we've made bullets specifically manufactured to blow those tiny bastards into biodegradable chunks.

The hylotl need to learn how to be friendly again, they're only gonna get into another war if they keep on being dicks. They might not be dicks to this strange new race though, which would already be a miracle.

They don't really express hatred for any race- florans included. They're just exceptionally condescending, with remarks as to how unprivileged and sad these poor creatures are, and how the Hylotl have long since abandoned such primal methods.
I love the Hylotl so much.

I don't even know what agarians are, but I definitely think this is a new race of people. I like it when starbound doesn't isolate themselves with just the 6 races, but rather chose to expand their options.

 

Somewhere I read (might have been a reddit thread) that these are Apex survivors of the Ape Flu. Basically infected and banished from Apex towns.

 

They're the mushroom people. They're just florans with mushroom hats (which are obtainable through mods)

 

Florans.... with mushroom hats? Are you perchance referring to one of the hat options (the mushroom hats) that you can give to florans at the character creation screen?

Hm...I'm not sure I'm familiar with that, but it's ok.

 

I think these are the agarian/agaran people.

Either those or the colourful villagers.

One of the developers just confirmed it for me, the agarans ARE the mushroom people.

 

Okay much has been posted here and I'm too lazy to quote the mis guidings. Yeah Agarians are mushroom people. Colorful Villagers are the "bunny" hat people. Colorful villagers are not Apex, or at least there is no reason to believe they are at this point. They will however talk to the races with Apex lines, this is not because they are apex, it's just because they are a work in progress.

 

How dare they copypasta stuff like dialogue in an early beta....

Actually, it's not a case of copypasta; it's a bug. They're MEANT to say "replace", which is understandable.
However, for some people it doesn't load that, but rather the dialogue for the Apex, and so that's what they say.
I don't know why everyone's flipping tables over this. Yeah, it's a bug. I'm pretty sure they devs have caught wind of it, I trust that they'll fix it, and soon, give these guys dialogue of their own!

I have never seen any pictures or mentions of these colorful dudes before and neither did my friend, so I thought I'd post about them. I did a quick forum search to see if anyone else has found these guys and I didn't see anything, but apparently I missed the thread that mine just got merged into. Oh well, what's the fun in finding something if you don't share it?
