I would like to see a bit more detail in the materials department from this game. I dunno, it just strikes me as fun to find plutonium and make special ammunition out of it or whatever one might use it for.
I posted a topic about it: gravitite. It would be a material just like sand but that floats up . I think it could have many uses ^^.
Nothing against a bit of Gundanium Alloy. Atleast we'd have enough blueprints allready Edit: But the no ore thingy really confuses me. If ore's would have different unique names it would be ok...but no ore's in the game?...hmm..really confusing. But maybe it's just called "super pixie powder" and looks like an ore stone..who knows.
Mining colonies would provide ores, and will likely have a smelting capability. The extraction will all be... underground, though I'm reluctant to bend to hipster-ism. Also, recall that this IS sci-fi. Gold, silver, and platinum are all very malleable, but serve unique roles in electronics. Gold can be stretched a few molecules wide, and used in small electronics. Platinum is also a good conductor, and will likely be used in higher-tier weapons and shield matrices. Silver, of course, is the best conductor of electricity on earth, and would be widely used in electronics, both mid- and high- tiers.
If it hasn't been mentioned already, the generic fantasy metal Mythril would be amazing. Around planet-level 60 in usage.
