including hats? or perhaps even monocles?

 

Well, I'd like to see an eel fin like short Mohawk for the Hylotls, some kind of square monitor head for the robots, and vine dreadlocks for the Florans. I oughta sprite those...

 

That would fall under equipment.

It's probably meant to be like a widow's-peak kind of thing. It does look a little odd, though.

Yeah some things are hard to convey with the pixel limit, and the characters always being in profile.

now THESE are hairstyles that might make me consider having my first char be Hylotl. especially the third and second from the right. as well as the third from the left. I'm still waiting for my venus flytrap Floran and jellyfish-hair Hylotl though

 

If I can make a Gaige in Starbound... well I might just die and be reblossomed.

 

For some reason the new hylotl fins make me think of clowns.

 

You know what this game needs? WIGS. Wanna be a robot floran? we can fix that, with the power of ARTIFICAL HAIR THAT YOU CAN WEAR ON YOUR HEAD. (wearing it other places is possible too, but is socially unacceptable in most parts of the universe.) It would add a great variety to the game. Maybe even allow for "undercover" missions where you dress up as another species. (Or to confuse your friends. "Wait, I thought your character was a human, not a Floran")

 

well, if modding clothes and hairstyles into the game is possible without to much programming knowledge (because i still suck at that), i will definitely try to get her in.

I just posted a suggestion related to hairstyles in the Suggestions - Other section, and only recently discovered this thread. I'm not sure if it's applicable enough to bring up, even, BUT when you consider how many possible hair styles and other selections may be available, I felt it should be suggested. And we're on the subject of character generation and hair, so I figured it would be worthwhile bringing it to attention.

Now if only I was artistic enough to sprite some hairstyles.

Here are some Robot heads! I was considering whether or not to make these, given the Robot heads posted so far are incredible, especially the ones by Lazer, Rosett, and DSMK2!

I wanted there to be a more humanlike robot face, similar to iRobot or Kryten from Red Dwarf, as well as some more general options. (The last one seems to be a roboticised Apex?)
