Everybody loves hair made of stone. Hair that defies gravity (like most anime hair) is fun too.

 

and there are already very long hair styles in the game (for humans)

 

This is currently the longest known hair in the game. It's long, yes, but not super-long.
It also looks strange when falling.

 

But why is the solution, "no long hairstyles for anyone at all"? If you don't like hair not moving according to inertia, then don't use it for your characters (not trying to sound snarky). I would find it weird if starbound told the story of a universe where every single human had hair no longer than to their chin.

There are also more human male hairstyles in the OP than there are female. Some of the female hairstyles in the chargen look a bit off (I'm thinking the way some of the bangs look on a couple, and how there are several with a really pronounced Farrah Fawcett flip at the bottom).

Here are two I've made previously. They're not the most polished.

 

I love that second one from the top. The shaggy apex ones look neat too

 

Dunno if someone said it, but I would love some dreadlocks and more kinky/non-straight hair for the humans. Or dreadlocks/non-straight looking hair for the other species.

 

Some more daring, shorter styles for human women. Aeon Flux and Tron: Legacy come to mind. A decent pixie would be good too. Quad pigtails/ponytails for the more playful.

Apes could use the classic 60s/70s Planet of the Apes style, nothing currently looks bulbous enough.

Robots the classic twin antenna at 45 degree angles and a transparent Van De Graaff generator thing (you know, you always saw them on school science excursions) would be nice. Though not sure how you'd do it without animation.

I made a little collage of what I'd like-not restricted to humans(we still need moar beards and mustaches). Also I'm liking how these hairstyle are turning out. they look cool 0w0

 

Something that would be cool is a Floran with dreadlocks and have flowers that go down with it.

 

I know this is a bit off topic, but instead of just a few set colors for character creation, whether it be for hair, clothing, skin, etc., why not have a color dial/bar that you could adjust? For me, some of the colors are either a bit to overwhelming or a bit too dull; being able to adjust certain colors to perfection would, well, perfect this character creator! What do you guys think?
