Okay, so I was thinking about this game earlier, and this idea just hits me. The idea is for a new creature called the Recluse Turtle. It would be a completely passive mob that has no attack, and it would have mid-high health. It would be a rare creature to find, because, hence the name, it is a recluse, meaning that it would spawn where there are none to almost no other creatures around. If you managed to find one of these turtles, if you approached it, it would retreat into it's shell and become invincible - unless attacked with a melee weapon, in which case it would be flipped over and susceptible to attack. If killed, it has a chance of dropping an item called a Turtle Shell that would be either a vanity item or an accessory - that part is up for grabs. As far as the vanity item version, it would be simply a turtle shell on the player's back. For the accessory version of the item, it would act as a shield that protects you from attacks that come from behind. Hope you like it! ***Important*** So, honestly, I don't know how to go about spriting this thing or making a GIF for it, but I may be able to put a sketch up of some ideas. ***End Important***
Wow these are amazing! I like the one with the cannon - reminds me of Sonic heroes. Maybe that could be found on industrial planet and be the only one that can attack? And maybe it has a lower chance of dropping a Turtle Shell, but the shell adds defense points also, if it were an accessory? As for colors, I'd say that I was thinking something similar to having all of the shell green, except for the spots, which would be yellow. Then the turtle itself would also be green. Also, would you mind doing a sketch of it flipped over? The underbelly would be yellow. Thanks for making these!
I like the idea of turtles, an enemy that can become near invulnerable for a short time, and so you have to time your attacks well!
You're sneaking around at the beach, trying to catch a rather awkward penguin... SUDDENLY!! Someone speeds by with a tremendous velocity, hurling a wave of water over your head while you're wading around in the water. It's your nemesis, Blue, surfing on his damned recluse turtle! The penguin gets startled, notices you and begins to flee! You curse your nemesis, throwing rocks and bad words after him. As Blue fades in the horizon, he turns around, along with the turtle-mounted 18mm "personal defence" plasma cannon, pointing it towards you. He fires a single beam. The beam glides gracefully through the air, past you and your soaked clothes, and hits the fleeing penguin straight in the head. The penguin melts and dies instantly, making the last two hours of trying to catch the damned creature a waste of time. You hear a faint laughing in the distance. It's Blue laughing. Blue, surfing on his damned recluse turtle
