Server Help Need help with PortForwarded Server. Tried everything

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

SOLUTION: DISABLE MCAFEE FIRE WALL TO ALLOW INCOMING CONNECTIONS
I've been trying to host a server via Port Forward for a while now. Yes, I tried Hamachi, which proved successful, except it was very, very slow. I can't mine with my friend in an asteroid field without her freezing to death without even laying a dent in any ore.
I've already got a Static IP, and I've even Forwarded a lot of games already, all with success.
Starbound seems to be the only game that I can't Forward.
Before I go into detail in how I attempted to Port Forward, here's my specs. regarding my internet, router, and computer:
    OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel Core i7 (Clocks at 2.2 GHz, 3.2 at "Turbo Boost")
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
    RAM: 8 GB DDR3
    Laptop Manufacturer: Acer
(I say my computer specs just in case there's a pattern in this problem for other people)
    ISP: Charter Communications
    Router Manufacturer: Cisco
    Router Model: Linksys E2500
Connection Speed: 45-60 Mbps (Megabits per second. 60 Mb = 7.5 MB )
    Upload Speed: ~10 Mbps
Okay, so... I've tried switching the protocol from 'Both' to 'TCP'
    Even tried switching it back
I've tried switching the gamePort (via server.config) from 21025 to something else (like 7777)
I've tried turning off uPnP (again through server.config)
I've disabled the Hamachi Ethernet Adapter (through Control Panel)
I've triple checked my Static IP and the IP set on the Port Forward page
Told my friend to add ':7777' on the end of the IP
Even told her to try my Local IP (you never know)
Restarted my computer multiple times (I can't connect to her server if I don't restart in a while. It's weird)
Added three exceptions in Windows Firewall for Starbound, Starbound_OpenGL, and Starbound_Server
I just can't win. I'm not going back to Hamachi (for one, it makes connection speeds really slow, and it even caused a few bluescreens. Or maybe those were just my drivers)
I really need help. I'm sure there are many others like me who are having this exact same problem, and who tried everything.
I appreciate the help in advance.
If there is already a cure, please direct me to it. cf83637a50765ee542ad882f13a32e50.png
(Photo is with changed gamePort. Ignore StarForge, that's a completely different game)
P.S.: Sorry if this post might look a little noobish. This is my first post on this forum. Hopefully I'll try to answer any questions ASAP.
EDIT: Hamachi no longer works. I can join her server, but she can't join mine...
Hamachi also seems to cause Bluescreens on Windows 8.1 (confirmed from multiple Windows 8.1 users)

check the firewall setting on the windows itself.
configuration on the router is done perfectly, just open the ports on the system itself so that one could come through router and access the system.
you can check it also here canyouseeme.org

It is likely Windows Firewall that is blocking the connection. To check, temporarily disable it.

Double-check your IP on your computer to ensure the port forward is pointing to the right IP address.

Double-check your public IP as those can change. Visit a site like icanhazip.com to see your internet IP address.

Your LAN IP is not routable on the public internet.

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

Setting up a static IP ensures that your computer's IP does not change.

I never managed to fix this either. I port forwarded like in any game but it never worked :wut:.

So I just rented a server.

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

EDIT: Now Hamachi isn't even working. What is even...

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

Hmm... It appears that on Windows 8.1, Hamachi causes Bluescreens...
    Welp, this sucks..

You worded it in such a way so I can only reply with, it works fine on 8.1 ;).

Have you checked what caused the BS.

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

No, but others have been receiving the same result.
The Bluescreens say that the cause is from multiple IRP complete requests. This has to do with drivers, but the crashlog says otherwise.

Can't you just rent a server? It's cheap as hell!

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

I'm only 14, and my parents aren't very approving of my time on the computer :I
And besides, there has to be something wrong, and it never hurts to try to figure it out.
Not only that, but if I figure it out, it might just solve everyone else's problem, but for now, don't post anything unless you have a suggestion

Did you disable Windows firewall to test, like I suggested in my previous post?

Did you also check your LAN IP to ensure it is the one you are forwarding the port to? I know you said you have a static IP, but it doesn't hurt to check it.

Along the lines of "Did you plug it in..." Did you make sure you didn't alter the default ports being used in the config file?

  14. braddock1

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

I know I didn't alter the default ports, only the gamePort, which I switched back to 21025

  15. braddock1

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

Uhh, I think McAfee is actually blocking the connections.
I look at the report and it says it blocked 13 risky connections, which is how many times my friends tried connecting.

    Protip: McAfee is garbage, broseph

Uninstall that the moment you can, because it's nothing but trouble. As far as free programs go for virus removal there aren't many that are stellar, but Avast seems to do it's job. McAfee is one of the ones you don't want

  17. braddock1

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

So is Norton, the CPU hog.
Anyways, I did some testing and it seems that McAfee's built-in Fire Wall is blocking the connections.
I used Port Forward Checker to check port 21025 and it said it couldn't reach my router.
I tried the same thing but this time I turned off McAfee Fire Wall and there was success in reaching my router.
    So yeah, McAfee is stoopid

  18. braddock1

    braddock1 Yeah, You!

    It has been solved.
McAfee Fire Wall is the problem.
If anyone is having the same problem as me, try disabling your Anti-Virus Fire Wall and it should work.
