Mysterious Ancient Race?

Quick, to the Spacemobile!

 

i think it was the Anodynes,that later evolved into Novakid,just trust me and search deep in the " Meet the Novakid" and Meet the Anodynes" page(and the Novakid "history")
and look at the references when the avian folk says that the "sunborn" are the race that helped them
so look at one of my theories

2:The identity of the Ancients(i'm not 100% sure on that but)
on my previous theory, i've said that the Novakid are direct descendants from the Anodynes,so..
The avians we're visited by a ancient race called the sunborn(Sun,hmmmmmm,Very Suspicious),they could be the Novakid,except for one thing,the Novakid didn't had a space travel tecnology, so... who could it be?,easy,the Anodynes,and in the "meet the Novakid" Page, Bietol said that when asked him if there's any historical occurance of the Novakid that are recorded:"Oh, yeah, certainly other races have records of encounters with these guys - though for the most part it's stuff like:

Year a: encountered a peoples called "Novakid." We spoke briefly, and we gave them the blueprints for radio communication if they are willing to contact us again in the future. They made fun of our appearance, but are otherwise friendly.

So... based on this, another races could have encountered the Novakid,even their ancestors, and in the "Novakid Meet the Anodynes:
A comic showdown between myself(Bietol) and Suika(creator of the Anodynes)" they encounter briefly, the novakid insults them(and the comic ends up there )
but on other part on the comic(i don't know if it's a real comic, it's just a image) a Anodyne can be found sitting in a throne(With a AWSOME space background) and seeing everyone.

Well, seeing this, we could say that they are Anodynes(or not).

1:The Novakid are descendants from the Anodynes(Even their brands could be a remnascent part of Anodyne's crust)
like that:
(Greek/Roman)Anodyne-->(Western)Novakid-->Novakid(Original)(that served in inspiration to the current Novakid like the Anodynes(I've put them in front of the current Novakid because they don't have a brand,seem to be more evolved from the current Novakid (Maybe they are from the renaisceance)and Et Cetera...))

Now, if we're gonna be talking about some mysterious other race, I might as well suggest moving discussion to my far less dead, but still sort of dead, somewhat-relevant thread - after all, shameless advertisment! While the topic doesn't quite line up, I'm open for all discussion about any "other" race - the Ancients, whatever the race is that I posted about, who or what the Sunborn are (I still have my metaphorical money on ancient Novakids or some variant thereof), etc. Then we can let this poor thread die, and I get... Actually even though I started that thread I technically don't get anything out of it. Hm. Didn't think this through...

there has been some evidence to suggest the the novakids might have been this ancient race.

 

i kinda wish there was an option to make the novakids not be space cowboys. from the "meet the races" page "While generally more intelligent than the “fleshier” races..." . they're more intelligent than any other race beyond maybe the glitch...and because of their wild nature are probably a lot better at independent and creative thought than even them (even if they can't match the sheer processing power of an ai race). they should be able to fly something besides a spacetrain, and don armor that doesn't make them look like they just got off a cattle drive (a thing that they wouldn't have the attention span for in the first place). who knows, maybe some of this will be fixed by having more tiers of armor available post 1.0 (from what i understand). and i can always mod in a better ship, i guess...but most of what's out there i don't really like.

i also kinda wish we could build our own ships ingame somehow. like...give the outpost a spacedock where we can custom design them. i also wish we could cut blocks diagonally to make diagonal lines to smooth stuff out.

 

Personally I think the ancient race could of been cursed because on the midnight planets there are shadow people maybe there the ancient race. Think about it and the midnight planets maybe they were the ancient races planets and something or someone happened.


Theory number 2 What if the race wasn't just 1 race what if it was a unison of all the playable races it would make sense when the avians agreed to join them they were given technology and the glitch were probably created by them as well the novakids (By accident) Ok here my theory you charecter was graduating from the academy to be a full member but them the tentacle monster attacked ruining it this is where minikog would take control of the apex in this panic he would be the light for the apex. then after the planet exploded a few years later the pod chests and everything went flying into space landing on many planets and because of all of the technology which was there a chain reaction happened creating the novakids later they went out and landed on different planets like the pod chests and the capsule things you break for pixels and maybe they made a deal with someone for a spaceship and stuff(the alternate ending they land like the pod chests and the apex or some other races decide to study them and give them starships and guns and items like that taking them to around the same technological level as the other races) Sorry is anything is spelt wrong

 

Theory 1: It seems... soundish and makes some minor sense but I thing the Midnight and shadow people are more connected to ghosts and demons and whatnot as opposed to being the remnants of an entire race, but I can also see how the ancients could devolve from a normal, humanoid appearance to a more shadowy beast like one. But what it doesn't take into account is the fact that midnight planets appear to have such an incredibly thick atmosphere, that no light can pierce it. On planets like that the creatures would need to see so things like a heightened sense of sight, echolocation, or scanners in the Scandroid's case, it would make things like that imperative. And considering planets that are really as dark as Midnight planets (in theory) do exist, it's likely those planets formed naturally and the ruins there (as well as shadow people) are more connected to the occult or maybe a demon worshipping offset of Ancients.

Theory 2: I highly doubt the Earth exploded as the tentacle monster is devouring it. Now that can mean two things; it really is devouring Earth rock by rock and molten core chunk by molten core chunk OR it is devouring all life on the planet and somehow managed to destroy most; if not all human, and humanoid, life within the first 24 or so hours. Plus unless the thing's mouth was literally the size of the sun (which is doubtful because then no one would survive that thing; period) it most likely is taking time to eat it. The capsules are also most likely from ships and the like trying to get basic supplies (aside from food) to people on as many planets as possible, although why they are also unground confuses me unless they were hand placed in which case; good job whoever did it! You spent possibly a few hundred years getting supplies to people who probably will never reach it.

As has been stated before; the Ancients are probably more connected to Kluex and the Sunborn (although it has been stated Kluex ascended to godhood) or are possibly part of a progenitor race; connected to all the other races. It is also highly possible they played a role in almost every species' history; Avians have the Sunborn gods (who are apparently resting in hidden tombs), the Glitch have their creators, Humans have a whole myriad of gods and spiritual beings that supposedly played huge roles in many human cultures' history and human advancement, and it can be assumed the Apex did have a history similar to the humans.

Although Hylotl, Floran, and Novakid can all be difficult to understand, as until 1.0 comes out, we won't know anything about the Hylotl history aside from the fact they were driven out of their homeworld by the floran and that the Floran worship the sun (although it is possible the Floran have some secret roots concerning their origin according to greenfinger's notes). Novakid kinda just happened, so i doubt they really play (or had) much of a history with the Progenitors. I think they are just a whole new piece of the machine that while not needed, can help the machine in some way (whether it be how it runs, power conservation, ect ect.) although them appearing on the ancient gate shows they very much could have some connection.

TL;DR: Theory one seems unlikely due to the midnight planet seemingly being more connected to the occult and "How to Survive Sunless and Godless Environments 101" evolution handbook, Theory two is the planet likely didn't explode it's just being eaten either literally or life is just being devoured, and it is very clear the Ancient race had a clear hand in almost all the races' culture (aside from Novakids and possibly Hylotl) in the form of gods or things resembling gods.

I'm still set on there being multiple "ancient" races, although many of them could turn out to all be the same thing:

Sunborn: as seen by the Avians - being early Novakids, perhaps. I stick with this theory because we have no evidence other than the obvious correlation between the Novakid being birthed from stars, and the Suns being stars. Shaky evidence, but when there really isn't a lot else to go on, you go with what you've got. Could also be the Ancients. Could be something else entirely.

Ancients: as seen (armored) on the Ark statues. (Speaking of which I hope we can get a mod for the Ancient's armor set in the future)... Assuming their faces aren't weird smooth blank helmety looking things. Could be anything, really. All we have is statues, holograms, ruins, and a bit of legend. Might be robotic in nature. Could be related to, or actually be, some of the others on the list.

??? Fossil Aliens: as mentioned on my thread (linked in my previous post in this thread) These guys, I assume, are related to the tentacle beasts, eye demons, etc. in some way. After all, seemingly nothing of their history remains, unlike the other species on this list, and that might suggest total annihilation by a greater force like the Ancients. Nothing even looking like them seems to exist currently. Probably not the Ancients, as the depictions of the Ancients have vastly differing anatomy.

"Engineers": A name I just came up with to refer to the creators of the Glitch. Now, since little is known about these guys, they could be any of the above three, but since I don't think anything exists to tie them to the above, I put them in their own seperate category. If they are one of the above, I'd put my metaphorical money on the Ancients, just because they seem to be the most plot-relevant of the bunch.

 

I am super new to this game (began 3 days ago). But I noticed that at the 'Gate' there are 7 busts on the gate, and 1 last one is missing. Think that could be this mysterious race?

Many people have had the same thought. Since the gate was first made public.

 

Another theory from me is that they united thing was real (leaving novakid out) maybe the species were working on something and when they were attacked by the tentacle monster It attacked the planet but the machine they were working on was broken so they had to abandon it but a phew years later the first novakids were born it would make sense as they could scavenge and maybe make starships or find a prototype. But there are also other things in nightly like the scorched city and the protector city which proves my point... but maybe the ancient race isn't a race but who what if one person made the glitch what if one person helped the avians. what is he is dead long dead but not a race but maybe the player could visit his old starship
And if this theory is disproved even though from nightly there are things supporting this. protector city..

 

Don't give me credit for that idea - the gate-race thing has been around for a long time. In fact, back when the gate was first teased, the 8th was there, and it appeared to be a single large eye. That's what led to many people believing the 8th race was the tentacle monsters, and myself the weird 1-eyed fossil people who coincidentally hold something which looks like the keys' wiki images. Of course, since the gate now has that part removed, the old version can probably be considered non-canon, thereby taking away the key evidence in this situation.

 

I believe that the Ancients are a race that is still around and created the weird tentacles that were attacking the Protectorate Academy, showing they are a violent, secretive race that doesn't like the fact that they're not alone in the universe.

But that's just a theory....a GAME THEORY!!!!!!

 

Unlikely, as the statues in the ruins look to be trying to hold the beast back from the galaxy, or just back in general and most of the holographic images in the Ruins depict warning and to be prepared, rather than "PRAISE CTHULU MONSTER! LET HIM RIP YOU TO SHREDS SO THE GALAXY MAY BEGIN ANEW!"

I also doubt the Ancients had anything to do with the Protectorate, but I do think they are connected to the creation of the tentacle monster in some way.
