Is it just me, or do you guys find there to be too much variety to the food in the game. Not only do i often wonder why there is so many food items, but also what they all do.

I mean i have been playing for a good bit and i always end up collecting huge amounts of seeds for plants that i wont be growing. (Not to mention the fact that i end up with billions of red/yellow/blue petals but thats another topic).

Now all these food items would be great but the main problem is that you can't tell what any of them do differently? I havent gone into crafting allot of them so for all i know they all do the same sort of thing. I also don't know if id be wasting my materials making a certain food item or not.

I believe the best thing for them to do is add a better description that tells us the effects of each of these items. That would help allot.

So generally i was wondering about you guys's opinion about the myriad of food in the game at the moment. Do you guys also have similar complaints? Are the different food items actually worth making and i just havent done my research? You guys think theres TOO many foods? etc.

The foods tell you MOSTLY what they do, but it's via the Cooking Table. you can rapidly find out the ones that restore health, add temporary HP, regenerate energy quickly, and a couple others, as well as a miscellaneous tab. Really, I think it would be nice if they gave us a Codex we can personally write in, like an in-game journal, so I can open a section in it just for various recipes.... actually, hold on, THAT is a feature I'm going to go request in just a minute!

    EDIT: http://community.playstarbound.com/...codexes-sortable-codex-codex-overhauls.90893/

I specifically mention contents from this thread in it.

I think it'd be nice if the descriptors gave us the numbers on what each food does... but only AFTER we've consumed them. Leave us some mystery. Let us know "yes this one temporarily boosts your health", but don't let us know how much for how long til we try it.

Also, the sheer amount of food would also pay off better if we could place them as decor items. I'd love to be able to set the table with a big roast bird and glasses of juice. No, I will not stop suggesting that.

What we need is various "item mounts" where we can show off food, weapons, armor, etc. that we can interact with to place the item to display.

Oh, I've been on about having clothable mannequins in the game for a while now, plus empty weapon racks/wall-mounts to place your stuff on.

Food though I'd prefer to just be able to drop on any open flat surface.

Tables gettin a use that way. Open a GUI, place an item in it, and BAM, stored on the table!

The only problem I see with that is that it may be possible to place an item that is too tall for the current table clearance which would result in clipping issues. But I guess that isn't a huge deal regardless.

I'd imagine only Consumable foods would be allowed on the Table, once all is said and done.

    2KB Potage
"The most basic of glitch cuisine"
    Automato Shake
    "An automato milkshake! Mmm."
    Salt Salad
"Coralcreep, reefpod and Pearlpea make for a salty, crunchy salad."
    Cake
    "Its a delicious cake!"
    Coffee Cake
A moist cake enriched with coffee. Moreish!"

None of those descriptions gave me much to go off of, except for that they are delicious.
The mod sounds useful, but it seems like this is something that should be implemented into the game right?

What food really is missing are some hard numbers. You don't even know if something is better in some way or how much it gives you. I would make more complex items if i knew that the benefits would be worth it. If not then i atleast would like to make them as some kind of decoration.

Yea, the lack of information on foods is quite annoying. Have to use the filters on the cooking table to find out what are everything...

    Spooky Donuts:
Regeneration, Speed boost and Rage boost (+20% more dmg inflicted with attacks)

While cactus and thornfruit foods seem to grant "spike armor".

I agree, the current description of the foods make me go nuts, I skip them altogether because of it.

    I second this suggestion.

Yeah, we should be able to place food on tables. And I have 4 chests full of food, along with a fridge full of even more food... food is in abundance in this universe o_O 2015-02-01_00002.jpg
