My tennants constantly fear for their lives

so after coming back to starbound and finishing my meteor-shower-resistant moonbase i decided to make a volcanic colony, because i heard that tennants pay top-pixel in extremely dangerous planets

so after getting three of them a place to live i have noticed that they contantly wave their arms around like crazy and their statuses read things like "horrified", "peeing themselves up a little", "spooked" and "helpless"

is this normal on "extreme" planets? does it stop when you get guards?
it's not like it stops them giving me things or paying rent but it's really annoying
they have no actual contact with monsters or enviormental hazards (i also double checked to put inner walls behind all the outer walls) stuff.png
i also have turrets but it looks like they just stopped caring , they only attack mobs when they're aggroed by the player so there really is no way to keep the perimeter mob-free other than surrounding the building with a giant dome

and papa ain't got time for that

Turrets were changed up a bit, you have to "recharge" them by reactivating them when they run out of juice. At least I think they do, has been a while since I've used any.

Sometimes the tenants will shock themselves on any electronics and that causes the running around and flailing. I know I had one on my ship that routinely killed herself in her own room using a console that was placed in there, lol.

I think it happens on any planet. Not sure though.

    Btw, nice colony.

I'd love to see more pictures.

thanks. it's pretty much that right now ,and it's mighty unfinished
im planning on getting to at least 50 tennants

so pretty much going to spend probably a full day of combined hours deconstructing underground outpost mini-dungeons

    Try this mod: http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/blocktable-plus-compatibility.2791/

It lets you craft a lot of things from wood and rock. More "high tech" blocks will need iron, steel, etc. I think it's much better than deconstructing mini-dungeons, even if you have to mine some ore.

Edit: my tenants in a low level lush world are exhibiting the same behaviour. So it's not because of the world.

iirc, the guns recharge now, they should be able to be equipped with guns as a change in stat and ammo, but that's not fully in yet. I've never had to manually reload the turrets in my installation, though their fire rate takes a dive if they run out of juice shooting. I've gotten around most non bandit problems with a combination of guards and turrets.

The negative messages and behavior seem to be random, you could have them in absolute safety and they will get antsy from time to time, almost guaranteed if you have freaky npcs like eye knights.

Probably, it has been a while since I've used actual turrets. I tend to use the guard bots from Garden bots mod. 3-4 of those running around in the farming area takes care of most creatures, hehe.

Most likely because those particular npcs were given a "clumsy" nature (out of a pool of other natures, including "emo", "jerk", "lonely", and "cheerful"). Unless you don't mind replacing those npcs (by taking off and replacing their Colony Deeds), then you'll just have to deal with it. (I recommend giving them a bed to rest in, so that their health can be rejuvenated.)

The tenets I have on my ship don't cause too much trouble, except when they what to redecorate their room or one of the others, they keep insisting on the largest objects for that particular race. Don't these 6 merchants realize that they are on a ship and there is not much room for oversized items!?!?

I got to the point on the missions they gave for items to place I'd drop the mission. Got tired of them wanting more stuff in the small cubbyhole I built to keep them in. Even got to the point that I had to wire the doors open so they'd stop opening and closing doors constantly, lol.
