This is something I did way back in February(2014). Posted it on DA never bothered to post it here. Figured I'd give it a try and get opinions!
My Crew! Added new crew members in second post! Added my art examples in the spoiler below.

My art examples. If you're lucky I'll upgrade the traditional sketch into a full blown digital piece. Keep in mind some of these are a few months old so they're smudgy and crinkled. Yours will be a lot cleaner.

Figured I'd leave this here because the image in this post is gonna change as I edit it so would be cool to show the progression especially when I add in the full digital drawing of the crew.
LIVESTREAM & REQUEST RULES(ONLY WHEN THE LIVESTREAM IS ONLINE DO THESE APPLY, IF IT ISN'T ONLINE LEAVE REQUESTS BELOW)-

1.You must be in the livestream to have your character drawn.
2.Your character must be of the Starbound universe.
3.I will not go in order, I will go by which characters I like best.
4.The only way to be guaranteed to get drawn is stay in the stream and talk. I will end up drawing your character even if I don't like it.
5.I require some sort of reference. Whether it's a screenshot or a drawing already made of your character. I will not draw from descriptions.
6.Be nice to everyone! Not just me. If you're being rude to other people I probably will just remove you from the chat.
7.Make sure your name in the chat matches either your Starbound character or username in the forums! I can't draw you if I don't know who you are!
8.Atleast read a little bit about my characters! Liking my posts won't make you anymore likely to be drawn but would be nice to hear some input or opinions about my crew!

Made a custom sprite for the Ship's AI. This is Sydana. She's red with purple glyphic marks and yellow eyes. Floating pigtails and hair covering one side of her face. Her limbs are kinda separated and hovering. She controls the ship with two purple orbs that float around her hands and has... really... big... orbs of her own. She enjoys flirting and loves making inuendos as she typically uses the floating orbs as props... you can probably imagine how. THAT'S RIGHT. Twig and two berries. Only classy humor here folks. Sorry to disappoint.

I'll add her into the roster when I finish the Medic then Generic Henchman #1 and #2[DOUBLEPOST=1415029713][/DOUBLEPOST]Meet the Medic:

Her name is Iris. Whenever she smiles, it's probably best to get as far as physically possible from her. Someone or something is about to be experimented on. Other than that TINY quirk... she is incredibly skilled tending to any form of wounding. Particularly burns courtesy of Taliel, so Iris has had plenty of practice. She was originally part of a hivemind of Apex where the greatest geniuses gathered around doing incredible and horrible things. She ended up being too much for them. She had too much fun with her work and caused an incredible amount of problems for them because she ignored what little caution and limits the Apex had. She's been on the run ever since.


Meet Generic Henchman #1, Dal'tex. His title says it all. He gives speeches, does dirty work and gets blown away all the time. His boundless energy is topped only by the Novatwins. He handles a majority of the repairwork on the Aether. Not much else to say here. He's generic.


Meet Generic Henchman #2, Teryn Raze. Once again title says it all. She takes part in song, enjoys napping while on guard duty, and never really succeeds in any kind of mission unless it's to be cannon fodder. She's mainly incharge of tuning radio, radar, and other electrical equipment for the Aether. Yes, that's about it, she's also generic.

Meet Lexicon or, Lexi, for short. She's incharge of mapping where the Aether has gone, journaling their travels, and plotting their next course along a safe route. If she's not stopped, she will talk and talk and talk. Ranting on and on without end. Think she'll run out of things to say? You're welcome to test it if you can last. There's also this little tiny miniscule habit where she kind of impulsively writes down everything that happens. And a lot of stuff happens when you're with this bunch. Wherever they visit she ABSOLUTELY has to pick up new books. She always is looking to expand her knowledge and her private quarter's library. Well.. not so much private, her quarters are the library. Books often end up being her bed when she shuts down to recharge. She doesn't use any weapons but she will throw books at you. And not just any old paper back. We're talking hard cover baby. To your face. Or any vital organ really.


This is Xiao-Xing, their communications head...and universe renowned pop star. She's girly, pretty, and sparkly. She started out at a young age meddling with just about everything that emitted sound or involved person to person comms. Voices were her obsession, including her own. She took off quickly on the space wide web and well.. that wasn't enough for her so she hacked some rather secret and very secure channels which got her in huge trouble with a lot of important people. So now, on the run from said important people, she broadcasts all her performances live from the Aether to all her fans. She uses the Skyrail Rider tech, not because she is a rider of skyrails, but because it makes her shine like a star. Good reason right? Oh. And she has a chainsaw. Because everyone knows pop-stars love chainsaws.


Want to know what type rounds you need to penetrate a highly advanced mech? Ask Saiga. Want to know what size charge you need to temporarily knock out a living being of any kind? Ask Saiga. Want to know exactly what size explosion you need to level a secret underground base to the... well ground? Ask Saiga. Saiga is the Munitions expert of the Aether. He's in charge of making sure every gun is loaded and everyone on the ship is properly equipped. He knows everything about everything to do with guns, explosions and anything violent. That being said he's rather intelligent and doesn't jump...THE GUN. HAHA. Shut up it's funny. But if you touch his beautiful weaponry. He. Will. Mess. You. UP. He loves his guns. Probably more than anything in this universe ever should.


This here is Vaarus. In charge of salvage. He makes sure defeated enemy vessels and structures are stripped properly. Even though he typically just handles the junk after the battles, he's always more than willing to lead the assault himself. He's rather... headstrong. As in, headbutt tank 50 times size of your momma and tank go boom. And he wields a two handed axe with one hand. Yeah. ONE HAND. He keeps a shield in the other but rarely uses it. He use to lead a rebel group against the Apex till they all were wiped out except him. Best way to describe him is... Space Viking Gorilla. Yes. You heard that right. Take a moment to process that.

Alright so I think I'm set on my crew. Might add one or two more. If not all I gotta do is re-edit the roster image.

She's my third personal favourite, AIs are just awesome and she also looks awesome.
That's a lot of awesome.

 

It's gonna be even more awesome when I sketch em all out! There's a lot of detail you can't see on her sprite that'll come out when I draw her with the rest of the crew. But I guess the same goes for the rest of them.

 

I'll be looking forward to that then!
