My Secret Garden

Even though there will be a wipe soon, I recommend that you make a garden on your Home world. Plant lots of wheat and corn! The wheat makes bread, which then can be used to make burgers (I'm a human) which can heal you over time. The corn can be roasted and feeds you. Also you get some fiber which is nice for bandages. And just for fun, plant all those weird seeds. They might come in handy. I also plant trees on my home world so if I need coal to move my ship, I can always chop some trees and carbonize them into coal.

Here's my garden. Three rows of goodness. I also put doors at each end to keep critters out and gun turrets at each end on the roof. Hand for killing birds that fly by. I always find a few pixels when I go to the garden, thanks to those turrets.

Oh, and a kitchen counter for cooking up stuff. Even if it all gets wiped, it didn't take long to make and the benefits are very useful for healing and hunger!

By the way, Pies (Banana Cream, Copper Key, Apple, etc) and Breads (Carrot, Banana etc) are probably the best foods. They give you Hot Feet, (200% movement speed) roughly 250 health regenerated over 30 seconds, fill 10 hunger bars and give you a ~10% increase in jump force.

A universe wipe will most likely be coming when they change the sectors.

 

As long as the world block format isn't changed (it most likely won't, world generation algorithms will definitely change though) I can keep my world by simply copy pasting it into the new universe: it seems that a universe wipe mainly consists of deleting the universe archive file. If this happens, and/or the universe generation changes, I might be able to manually create a system by editing the universe archive file, so a universe wipe doesn't really worry me. If the universe generation does not change, then revisiting previously visited coordinates may even result in a planet which a planet file exists for showing up with all the previous modifications intact.

On the next universe wipe, I'll be posting a thread that discusses what the universe wipes, and how to save your planets, if possible.
