Soooooo, it sounds like there can only be a certain area of connected water. Can You check if the total area of the water that is 11 blocks wide is the same as it was before? And if not, perhaps the perimeter?

 

Hm, we could try using the ancient, secret, super-special art of forum-fu to get the attention of one @Tiy. Care to weigh in on this topic? My personal thought is it might be an issue with the chunk rendering that's causing the water level to drop.

 

Is it just me, or are there background blocks missing?
If so, water usually leaks out of background blocks, unless they changed it in a patch.

But I also haven't played for a long time, so they might have.

 

I haven't encountered any background blocks missing, at least none that are very far from the surface.

But then again I'm not actively trying to find them, either.

 

Oh wait, sorry, those were snow-blocks there, not openings.
