I'm in Year 4 of Stardew, and since about Year 3 (after finishing the community center and marrying loads of people) I've been working on turning my farm into a castle. Basically, I tiled over all the farmland with stone and wood flooring. Then built a stone wall around it and used more walls to separate the rooms. There's scarecrows and suits of armor along the corridors and stone owls/frog and other animals beside the 'doorway' entrances. I've still got a barn and chicken coop, and one room of my castle is for animal produce, another is for jams and honey, another has kegs. There's a room with lightning rods and a room which is just filled with suits of armor in rows. Also got a super small garden area with those totems in a circle and trees to collect stuff from, and obviously I've got the green house for crops and the large pond. Working on getting a dinosaur egg at the moment. It's huge but needs more stuff. One room is completely empty. Once I'm happy with it I will be looking for someone to invite to the awesome farm castle. Possibly a stupid question - but if I invite someone, would they be able to mess up my castle and ruin it? Has anyone else turned their farms into anything fun or had any creative ideas for what to do after you've finished the main game?
How cool! I'd love to see screenshots, even if you're waiting until you're finished. Yes, if you invite another player to your farm, they'll be able to work on the farm in the same way as you can - meaning, of course, they could ruin your castle entirely. Really, it's always a good idea to only play the MP with people you trust, since it's such a co-op game.
Thank you for your reply and for answering my noob question Ah that is annoying! Oh well, I will get it all finished and share screenshots. Here are a few of the rooms at the minute. It is a work in progress therefore a lot of it the area is pretty bare at the moment. I wish you could put decorative items indoors and outdoors regardless of what they are, got such a good chair that would work great as a throne!
Ok, that gives me the vibe of one of the old towns from early Ultima games. Hast thou tried the mead, Avatar?
@Lilliput Ultima 4 or 5 I'm guessing, 6 had better graphics than that and "avatar" I don't think was until 4... @Mika134 Has Robin come by to acknowledge that you have excellent taste and she might have a rival?
Definitely not Ultima 4. That was my fav and I remember it well (still have it from GOG). The signs for the buildings are different and the characters are much more define than U4.
It's U5, guys. Buccaneer's Den. My point was just that the early Ultima games all had that same 'open plan castle' look that the OP is going for.
