My fancy new Starbound goal: Planet Fishtank

I am sad that it only JUST occured to me. I always wanted to make an ocean planet my homeworld (Because most games, including Terraria, made that kinda stuff impossible because of their water physics) and the Starbound oceans already look absolutely beautiful.
But I have stepped up my plan.
Now I can search the entire of everything looking for new sea monsters and sea plants to bring back to my homeworld.
    Planet Fishtank.

Also curious to see how temperature my plan into this. Might need to section off some of the ocean and heat it, for my tropical fishes/leviathans.

Sounds interesting. Never really though about ocean planets, but they might be fun to explore now that I think about it.

While not exactly the same as yours, a while back I had the idea of converting an entire planet (or maybe a sizeable portion) into a massive science and military base. I reckon I could do all kinds of research, testing, crafting and storage there. I'll probably call it Planet 51. That is, if I ever get the patience to build it.

  3. This is a fantastic idea, gathering all underwater creatures you find into one single place. :p

    Just don't put mammoth-sharks with the whale-cows. o_O

Be sure to catch a lot of sharks and attach lasers to their heads! :p
I bet sailing on an ocean planet is going to be great fun.

I'm hoping that there are submarines, too!

I REALLY REALLY hope it randomly generates gargantuan sea creatures.

Bonus points for building planet-wide glass walls. Fish tank, after all.

One of my goals is to set up a colony on a ocean planet (If they have them that is) and then re-creating rapture as far as I can on that planet. I would like to have many things similar to Rapture like leaky ceilings, flooded rooms, if possible let monsters spawn in the building for extra fun, will execute many experiments there to learn about the creatures of the world and possibly other worlds, and more when I think of it. It will include skyscrapers in the water, places that go below the bottom of the ocean floor, walkways to lead from one building to another, docking stations to be able to leave the building by water vehicle (If they add them), and potholes to be able to leave the water in a more direct manner.

mm sounds interesting although i wouldent go as far as an entire planet (unless i find one thats already filled whit enough water) i would try something simular

Planets are round in this, could not. Could do giant metal doors with airlocks for heated/cooled water (If they keep temperature as an ecosystem factor)

There's supposed to be planets that are just oceans, I think.

Aw true. Then at least making a bottom and background of glass with adding usual fish tank decor like on this pic would be `nuff.

After I saw that pic, I've decided my apex is going to have a military base situated under the ocean, where she will plot all deviously evil apexy things, like :
    -overfeeding hylotl
-put a giant magnifying glass over a floran planet!
-Destroy all fastfood restaurants on human planets
    -Acid rain on robot homeworld
    -Invite hylotl to sushi bar

As long as there are no sharks-with-lasors-on-their-heads I`d like to be a janitor on your base, if that`s possible.

Wait, why wasn't it possible to make water world in Terraria? Because I am pretty sure you could feel entire world with water using glitchy pumps, no problems.

Sure that was possible no problem,(even though it would take forever and a day to submerge everything via pump) it just wasn't so practical and wouldn't look as nice as there was very few water creatures in Terraria. I'm positive there's a lot more flora and fauna dedicated to under the sea for Starbound.

Well OP said that it was impossible, I was just saying that it is possible and it didn't take very long at all, all depending on how many pumps you had set up across the world.

But I don't argue that Terraria lacked in the water monsters and atmosphere, but then again it lacked in many areas on the land too heh.

You, good sir, have given me an idea for a goal in Starbound; make a zoo of every creature I find.

That's going to take forever, but it's happening. :geek:

Didn't bodies of water in Terraria stop filling/draining once they got too large? I remember having that problem more than once.

Depends on how you executed it single pump systems stoped when the water reached the level of the outlet pump but if you layered your outlet pumps at varying heights you couod essentially pull of ocean world i tried it once was a slow process very resource intensive but it worked

SEXY! Just don't forget the flusher. :p

If porcelain blocks are included in-game, then i'm just about set for a king-sized commode... To put flowers in of course!

I donno, I filled more then third of my world with single body of water from just couple pumps and it would still go when I turn it on, pretty sure i could feel the other side that was separated by the wall and then just combine them later.

If there is a size limit for it before it stops, its huge, it will take player like maybe 3 or 4 separate chucks to fill large world.
