Hi, as some of you may have noticed the yogscast started posing some videos of themselvs playing starbound at i49. After some research I found out that the game was actually playable there (even if in a limited form). Now, of course it's amazing that you can show of the game, but I feel that showing, and more importantly, letting only people who happen to live in the right place or have the money/time to travel to the expo play the game is -disrespectful- not very nice to an international community. Some people (like myself) simply can't afford to travel to england, and thus at least I feel cheated of an opportunity to try the game out, just because Inhappen to live in the wrong place. What has to be said is that you opened up pre-orders for the entire world, not just england, shouldn't then everyone who pre-ordered have the same opportunity to try the game out?

Just my two cents on the matter, feel free to post your opinion (that's right, this is an OPINION) on the subject, and try to keep things civil. :3

There are a number of threads about this very topic. I'd do a search for i49 or Yoggcast and post there instead.

Everyone had the same opportunity. I'd love to go TGS but I don't have the time, should I be mad at everyone who does attend?

The i49 demonstration wasn't a preorder reward. It was a controlled environment in which we could let some people get a hands on with a small portion of the game. It's an entirely different kettle of fish when compared with a public beta.

The thing is, not eerybody had the same opportunity. If we compare it to the pre-order, where you go to a website, pay money to eventually get the game, there's not a lot of differense because you happen to live somewhere else. With i49 someone living close to the expo could take the car or even walk, whilst someone like me would need to get a passport, fly tickets, hotel and so on. I don't consider that the same opportunity, but I might be wrong.

So? there are tons of gaming and otherwise conventions that happen all over the world. Just because you (or other people) can't go there to play a game doesn't mean that you're cheated. They PAID to go to the convention. Contrary to popular belief everyone is not equal, we don't deserve something just because someone else gets it.
