So this has happened a couple of times already, It is due to the faulty batteries of my laptop, so sometimes when I'm playing the computer will suddenly turn off. When this happens, the character which I was playing dissapears.

Is there no way to get them back?

Your player file was corrupted when the power was abruptly lost. Check your player folder and see if you have any .bak files. If so, then rename them and drop the .bak extension.

    For example:

I would delete the .metadata, .player, and .shipworld files and then remove the .bak1 extension from the backup files (so you replace the current .shipworld, .player, and .metadata files with the backup copies).

If none of your backup copies work, then there's nothing you can do other than start over (and make your own backup copies just in case).

Open the .metadata file in Notepad and see which one has your character name (but don't save when you close Notepad, you may corrupt it!). The other files that match the same UUID (that string of letters and numbers) are all tied to the same character.
