IMPORTANT EDIT: I resolved all the problems I had, it appears I was on a threat 10 world, and was the reason I was getting 1-shot and not finding the next ore. Thanks for all the support =D

Now, I'm going to talk alot about my experience with my current character.

My character is a hylotl, as me and some friends were starting new characters after the reset, 2 or 3 of us chose hylotl, but some of us chose other races.

The host is a livestreamer who was streaming on a semi-public server (its private now, after a theft incident) and we started to get to work straight away.

I was in charge of cutting down tress while others went exploring to get starting ores, Copper, Iron, Coal , The Odd Silver...

we started doing things, like building and creating items, and by the end of the stream, we beat the UFO and had managed to make the next anvil.

After that, I went offline on single player the next day, and used a spear to explore that I found along the way.

Exploring lead to a floran village, and after having a massaqre, I found an amazing sword that had 105 DPS (this is important)

This was after the weapon patch, so my weapon was safe, with a fire and poison 2 handed sword that was 2.11 Swing Speed.

going forward, I went exploring and found lots of ores, and made a gold pickaxe, then made a small wall and killed the robot boss with my sword.

Typical adventure followed, mining ores, creating armour, finding the odd weapon or dungeon.

Around this time, the OP Poop appeared and 1 shot me, which is the reason I made the thread a few days ago...

The next thing I know, I beat the bone dragon and move on to the next tier.

The day after, My friend got the chance to stream, and 2 of our friends also joined in with us to play the game.

He saw the build I was doing meanwhile, but then we heard about a guy on the server came and stole all our resources, and left.

We then decided to move, destroying my build that I built and moving to newer planets.

After exploring for more ores on higher leveled worlds, after a short while the streamer had to leave, we did a bit of exploring afterwards, but soon parted ways afterwards, leaving me to my own devices.

Now, today is where the problems arose.

Atleast 20 minutes since the posting of this thread, I beat the 4th boss and moved on to the X sector.

Alot of things followed, but I noticed something...

There was a huge leap from the monsters and ores in the next sector.

Monsters were doing from 30-40 damage to 200 (enough to 1-hit me) and had alot of health, making my OP Sword pretty much useless, instead of destroying them in 2-3 hits like the previous sector.

There were alot of new ores, but none of them had much use, 2 of them we're used as replacement fuels, but couldn't be used for torches like coal, and coal being rarer than diamond, I was finding alot more silver than copper or coal, 2 of the useful ores even at this level (coal for fuel and light, Copper for drill repair) the other 2 were otherwise useless and had no use but to be used in the refinery for pixels, the rubium ore was to be used for repair, but that doesn't work on a diamond drill at this point...

P.S. I will open a help thread soon on my steam guide on races and racial armour, and also upload it to the starbound forums for the (crazy) people who currently don't have steam.

 

The Aegisalt ore? Look for it on level 5 or 6 planets. Should be greenish in color.

 

Do you know the rarity? Is it common like titanium or as rare as diamond on alpha worlds?

I can't seem to find it at the places I've looked.

 

If you're having trouble finding it on the surface, don't be afraid to dig deep. Try finding a snow planet, since mining through that takes very little time.

Aegisalt is fairly common on threat level 5 & 6 planets. It is literally as common as titanium is on gamma worlds, according to the ore distribution config file.

Much ado about nothing
