Mutant Freaks from Nuclear leaks

    So The way mutants would work is they would be in a nuclear biome9, they would for the most part be the same as whatever the planets native species is but with slight tweeks, change in color, possibly larger, maybe randomly switch a part on them with something else?

    as well as mutant version of preset creatures like poptops and the playable races(civil or feral)

    maybe have an item that lets you change into the mutant version of your race(likely purely cosmetic)?

    Human: bald/patchy hair, gross skin, generic mutant look

    Avians: birds evolved from dinosaurs, so possibly mutate into a humanoid pterodactyl or feathery velociraptor

    Hytol: mutant piranha people?

    Apex: a missing link/neanderthal like race

    Floran: there skin becomes bark like, mushrooms seem fitting considering mushroom clouds

    Glitch:being mechanical they cant actually mutate, but it could still effect them leaving them damaged, body would have scrap metal and random salvaged technology in it as they try and make crude repairs to there bodys, damaged circuitry leaving them a bit messed up in the head

    Novakid: like the glitch they cant mutate, but the nuclear energy could effect them, there brand would be partially melted and deformed, there bodys have blotches of random colors,maybe a few small pockets of gas/energy bloating there skin


    and finnally a possible "super mutant" for each race
    Human: super mutent/hulk like

    Avian: if normal mutents are velociraptors, how about a humanoid t-rex

    Hytol: shark men

    Apex: possible a large ape missing patches of fur?

    Floran: most of there skin is bark, has a small tree growing out of its back

    Glitch: almost all scrap metal, possibly a tv in there chests or weapons attached to its body

    Novakid: brand is now just a melted ball of metal, possibly a miniature sun embedded in there body, or replacing there hand as a sort of mace

    With the discovery/use of regenerating energy for ammunition, fuel, etc. I doubt nuclear energy will be used in the game :p

    Radiation doesn't come from only nuclear energy. Space is home to a wide variety of radiations and the like. This is a pretty neat idea, very fallout-esque but with a nice twist for each race.

    Radiation doesn't cause mutations just cancerous tumors.

    In reality yes they do cause tumors. In every fantasy thing ever radiation usually results in mutation of SOME sort.

    Radiation now turns robots into TVs. OK, then.

    Well yeah, real life radiation is booring, just some cancer, hair/teeth loss and in rare cases stupid freaks are born from it, like, dunno, bunnies without ears or pigs with two snouts... and videogame/fiction radiation is cool, it gives superpowers, freakishness, insanity, badass mutant looks and monsters to grind on! Also makes insects big, but that's more of a con than pro when it coems to spiders...

    Anyways, I actually like the idea of some sort of special "corrupted" biome with malformed monsters... and I think it could use some further immprovement, like, in the center of this biome there could be a highly radioactive mini-biome of some sort, like crater after nuclear explosion, or a crater with weird meteorite shard / irradiated space satelite at the bottom of it... maybe even something more generic, like powerplant ruins or something!
