Music in Space?

I remember there being a mod that made music play while you're on your ship instead of the usual annoying hum of your ship's engines. Does anyone know the mod im talking about? Cant seem to find it :\ or know if its updated/usable or not :\

 

I've never heard of such a mod. But there IS a furniture object called "Jon Afro Jukebox" that will play music on your ship.

 

Alternatively you can enslave another to follow you around with an instrument.

I know with ZimaZang's Miscellaneous mod, you can craft a place-able music player that you can put down anywhere, including your ship, and turn on to play various music from your Starbound music folder. I guess that also means you can put different songs in that folder and it has a chance to play them too.

 

I uh... sometimes listen to my own music...

The only thing beyond the ship sound I hear is the various wall panels I placed. So it sounds like a science room or laboratory... didn't quite do that on purpose, it just happens to be the select items I have put up on my ship.

Not heard of a mod that does that, then again I don't really search up a whole lot of mods... Although wouldn't mind a tune for space, but getting one that will fit is not really that easy...hmm...

 

Instead of listening to the roar, I usually play my little guitar to bohemian rapsody (which I added to the game) while I burn through solar systems at the speed of light.

I'm just a poor, a poor boy, I need no sympathy, because I'm in a ship, out in space, little air, lot's of waste.

 

sounds like an idea...lol although I am usually sleeping my health back up at those times. I guess I could give the mic a try during those times.

 

Heh, once I played music for 30 minutes before realizing that I had finished the animation a while ago.

 

The only music I have on my ship is what I play during FTL jumps. That includes one of several guitars as well as a gong I have hanging around. A drum, too, which sounds bizarre if I play certain tracks with it.

my most favorite item ever other than myself is the apex jukebox.

go loot an apex apartment dwelling and place not one, two or three but TEN of the goddamned things and play them all at the same time.

No but really, this thing kills my brain with its song and out of tact beat.

 

Yeah, it's pretty awful. That's why I have a crate full of instruments.

 

Have you found a Model M? I have found almost every instrument except for that one and the Ocarina. Not asking for co-ordinates, just want to know if you have actually seen one in-game, because I haven't.

 

I used to have one, but I lost it when I deleted my character due to a bug that turned him orange. I didn't like how it sounded, anyways. I didn't like the ocarina either, sounded squeaky to me.

 

It's really easy to change the jukebox's sound, took me around 5 minutes, you just have to put a mod with a file called jab.ogg under the assets/sfx/objects.

Once you know how to do that, you put it next to your teleporter, use it everytime you go on your ship, and here you go, custom music in your ship. I'd love to have the jukebox play automatically though, tired of walking half my ship while lagging just to activate it.

 

Will the new music play in MP, or will others still here the old music?

 

Haven't tried, but I guess they will not hear it, since the file is local, they'll have to have the mod themselves. Let's hope the jukebox will work like instrument, with you choosing a music, that would be cool.

 

When you add music to your game, people on servers can hear it even if it isn't in the basic files. But they probably won't because modded instruments don't exist without mods.
