Alright so far my favorite thing to do in starbound is float around my friends in the gravity ball tech while playing on my sax. Adds a nice little atmosphere when im with friends on low level planets, but I was thinking how cool a mod would be that sort of adds passive bard like effects depending on what instrument youre playing.

Like say im playing the flute, within a certain radius it could give my friends speedboost. Playing on the drums, they could get their attacks to do more damage within my radius. The balance would be the fact that im completely vulnerable while im playing. The idea isnt very "scifi" but really I think i could have a lot of fun with it, idk about others.

There could be armors to add effects to your music and boost abilities, instruments could spawn with random modifiers the same way weapons do.

Suggest things that would be good with this! Or tell me if you dont like it! (with why please)

Playing some hard rock tunes with your electric guitar so your friends can mine through the hardest of rocks I love that idea I love it.

Maybe even getting new songs ingame that make different stuff happen! Like raining or modify spawn rates!
Mobs can aggro at you easier because they hear you and also everyone knows alien animals hate music!
    I'm completely up to this

Having mobs come after you more if youre playing music makes a lot of sense actually I like that. Ill put it in the OP
