Hi guys! the idea here is that this creature can be randomly generated in each planet, so each game can have its own Mungus races. (I thought about making various types of eyes, but i don't think you could really see the difference on the sprites). Features: Mungus can have many features, as we already saw, but their height is normally from 1.5 to 3 meters; but some people say to have seen Mungus up to 6 meters!! They are usually peaceful (some tribes are extremely violent, and will attack on sight, but they are very uncommon). Some Mungus wield swords or spears (if their arms allow them to) they also have a normal meele puch. They have low health but very high health regeneration, so you have to kill them quick! They are immune to poisons and to the secondary effects carried by the spores released by their tribe members. Mungus live in green-zones and underground Spores: Aside from the poisonous effect, that multiplies to how many Mungus are around you (to a X6 max), they also have different effect depending on each Mungus: Slow, Decrease Armor, Decrease Attack, Decrease Attac Rate, Drain Mana (or whichever energy unit this game end up having) and Chance to Miss the Attack; so you better have a ranged weapon with you when you want to go against large groups of Mungus. Drops: diferent tipes of spores and blue sap Boss and NPC idea: It's a quest about finding the eldest of the Mungus, whose size is approx. 10 mts, this Mungus can write, and will tell you his stoy: He is rotting, and he cannot breed anymore, so he asks you to search for a spore in his cap, and plant it. You'll have to dig very far in his cap in order to get the spore, what would kill him, so, his last wish is to die fighting. The spore is as big as a peanut, and must be planted in a flower pot, near a window, and get watered often. When it gets bigger, it should be replanted outside 'till it grows to 1 mt and be able to get it's roots out and walk. After that, it will grow to 3 mts (or whichever height works better for the game, it would be kinda cheaty to have a big ass fungal bodyguard as a friend). When it gets to 1.5 mts your Mungus will be able to sell you different types of spores, and its blue sap to create potions and that kinda stuff. That height is also when it begins to defend by itself, he can release poison and curative spores (this Mungus's spores have all of the other secondary effects, and its poison's strenght reachs its max when the Mungus reachs its max height). Planted Mungus can defend themselves, but cannot move. Underground Mungus don't build shacks, but they use the caps of their fallen tribe members to illumminate their lairs until they stop glowin (approx. 1 month) Mungus average lifetime is of approx. 10 years. spores will look like a green dust around the mungus At the first week, the Mungus will be ready to be moved to the exterior, its height will be 10 cm. At the first month they'll reach 40 cm and develop eyes, but they'll remain closed. At the second month, they'll already have arms and start developing legs, it will be 70 cm tall an will start moving, still not opening its eyes. At the third month, it will open its eyes and will unplant, measuring 1 mt tall. he will reach is max heigh in 2 more months Their homes are simple shacks normally made with mud or other easy to mold materials. They have a big entrance, for Mungus's caps to go in easily, and a round window for sunlight to get in. The houses are 3.5 mts high, for any Mungus to enter without trouble. Nice, I like the variety of head variations you have. Though you might want to size your images down a bit so those of us on smaller monitors/laptops can see each whole image.
I have to say, I love the design you have made for them. I especially like the many variable limbs and arrangements
Ahahaa, this mushroom-based idea is great too! I love there are different cap types (and that garter frill on the classic Mungus? Excellent touch!) and the large NPCish/planting/pet type quest you've thought of, definitely makes it different from just the mindless aggression some entries have including mine, ahaha(!)
